Submission Guidelines

Jaded Silence Press is looking for a wide variety of authors to publish within their pages. If you're interested in getting published with us feel free to submit anything you like. We have several ongoing projects and there are anthologies and submissions for everyone to be able to join.

We are accepting stories, books, articles on writing, poetry and flash fiction as well. All of these are welcomed with any genre you choose.

Submissions:

Short stories: Short story submissions for ongoing anthologies can be 1000 – 10000 words in length. We are asking all of our submitting authors to make sure to edit and PROOFREAD their work. Despite that we will be going through and editing ourselves. We tend to be nit picky but it is needed in order to make a piece perfect for publication.

Novellas: We will be accepting novellas of lengths from 15000 – 40000 words in length, they can be about anything you want and again authors are expected to edit and proofread their work.

Flash Fiction: The allotted space for flash fiction pieces are from 1 – 1000 words. These will be used in different anthologies based on the content of the story. If they are romantic, they will go in one of the romance anthologies.

Books: Feel free to submit any FINISHED book to the press, however, we will make an exception if a novel is very near completion. We've already accepted novels that are in several different genres such as autobiography, horror, sci-fi and fantasy.

Cover Art: If you have cover art that you want to go with your book already, send that along with as well in jpeg format. So that we are able to upload it with the interior text of your novel. If you need cover art done, we do have a residential staff designer and artist that can work with you. Send us a complete and detailed description of what you want included on the cover and we will have one designed for you and you can approve or disapprove of it.

Copyright: Authors maintain all copyright information for their work. They are able to submit to other companies while awaiting for acceptance from Jaded Silence Press. However, if we do accept a book, we will hold the publishing rights of said work for one year.

ISBNs: In order to help our authors maximize potential sales of their books, we are offering a payment plan in order to buy a distribution ISBN package through Lulu.com. If an author can help to pay for the $100 distribution fee up front, they will automatically continue to get their full 80% royalties while Jaded gets their 20%. If an author can pay for $50 of the distribution fee, we can still send them 50% of their 80% revenue, while the other 30% goes towards the ISBN costs until it is covered and then they will automatically go back up to the full 80%. If an author is unable to pay any of the distribution costs for their ISBN, we will still send them the 30% of revenue sales, while the other 50% goes towards their ISBN costs and once it's paid off, they will automatically go back up to 80%.

Jaded's Revenue: All revenue that Jaded Silence Press makes will go towards helping to market authors' books. For instance, the cost of the website, membership costs to Author's Den, buying promotional copies of novels to help distribute to local booksellers, as well as many many other things.
