Well folks, it’s that time of the week again. Sorry I’m a little late on the newsletter, I’ve been very busy with new projects and the ongoings of JSP. And boy oh boy, is there a lot to talk about this time.
First and foremost, this week alone, we’ve sold 17 copies of various projects from our Lulu storefront. In one order, 10 copies of The Hidden Flute by Tony Chavez were sold. Now I personally think that’s astounding as I wasn’t expecting so many copies to go at once. Because of this little boost in his sales, he will be receiving his first royalty payment from us at the end of April, beginning of June. The reason being that he has to wait until then, is because the majority of these sales happened this month, therefore we wouldn’t be getting the revenue payment from Lulu itself until April. Congratulations Tony! I know it’s been a long wait but things are quickly picking up for you. As it stands at the moment, even without an ISBN, he is our best selling author. Again, I offer my congratulations to him for a job well done!
Alexander Quinn has also done well with his own book sales, one more book sold of his novel The Fallen and he’ll be receiving his first royalty payment along with Tony. The books are just flying off the storefront and I’m looking forward to them flying off the proverbial online bookshelves once ISBNs are bought for the novels.
Also, if things keep going well this month for sales, JSP will be able to use its revenue from the various projects to buy Lina Young’s My Side ISBN as well. So far, I believe we’re about 20 bucks short of being able to buy it, hopefully that will change by the end of the month.
In one week, I edited two novels and was given the formatted information for the Shadowed Silence Magazine’s first issue. In that same week, we’ve gotten A LOT of views on our storefront and we could potentionally sell many various copies of our projects. I’m very excited about this and proud to be a part of it.
We’ve also got various contests going on at the moment. I reopened the Neverending Dreams fanstasy/fiction contest as Charlie was the one that screwed up everyone’s writing and so we lost all of that information, and go figure, the wipe on the WC happened the day AFTER we finished gathering the submissions. We’ve also still got the Dancing with the Dead anthology running (true life ghost stories), The Monster Within (horror contest dealing with your non-typical monsters), The Poetry anthology is still slowly accepting submissions, Light My Fire (romance), Our Children are Precious (children’s lit), Get Your Book Published (self explainatory), and the new one Novella Publishing Contest (novellas of all genres welcome).
Also that’s another thing that we’ve been working on as of late, our website! Slowly but surely we are pimping it and getting the links to work. We got tired of waiting for other people to “maybe” get around to finishing it up and so Michael has taken it upon himself to make sure that it finally gets done. We were all getting impatient on whether or not it was EVER going to be finished. Hopefully soon, I’ll be giving everyone the new JSP website link and you can all check out the awesome features that we’ll have in store for you. Also what will be included on that site, is the publication process information, submission guidelines, our newsletters, etc etc. You name it, it’ll probably be there.
So as you can tell, we’ve been VERY busy on this end. I guess that does it for me for this week!
