Counterfeit IPODS
I can understand a fake Fendi or Burberry purse, but a counterfeit iPod shuffle? With so many iPods being sold, iPodGear.com is reporting that there are people out there trying to capitalize on the musical madness.
The units look like the iPods you've come to know and love -- at least the nano and shuffle ones. However, the fakes can be spotted easily since they have no dock connector and a different style of headphone jack. There are a few other subtle differences, including packaging that looks slightly different.
What I haven't been able to find out is any prices. I mean, the shuffle starts at $69 and the nano at $149. How low do you need to go?
It's noted that Apple does not provide service for the counterfeit models (duh!). My guess is that Apple will be all over this like a very pricey (law) suit. -- Rachel Cericola
