The Time is Come...
17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? (1 Peter 4;17-18, read the whole chapter)
I was reminded of this scripture in a broader sense than I ever have.
Judgment is coming to the whole world as we are nearing the last days.
So many scriptures literally jump off the page when I read them in relation to daily events now.
But a thought I've never had came to mind when I read the above scripture...
America is the only country founded on Christianity...so when I read verse 17, it seemed to expand from my typical perspective of "the church" to the whole USA.
As We see rebellion and sin vamp up through our country now in blatant delight, people who have known the "truth" are now embracing the "strong delusion", labeling it acceptance and unity...the new world order is on the rise, through the web of the strong delusion.
Therefore, yes, I now see why America isn't a part of end time Biblical prophecy. We've become the great whore of Babylon, spoken of in Revelation, so as we watch the judgments of God manifest themselves, don't take it lightly.
The just suffer with the unjust, and even though we know we as Christians ultimately win in the end, hunker down for the journey to the end. The Bible says, ..."and he who endures to the end shall be saved..." (Matthew 24:13, read the whole chapter).
The love of God is seeking to save all who are lost.
But all the lost won't be saved, because they choose to be lost.
Self-will isnt invaded by God. He will allow tragedies and events of great magnitude, in hopes of bringing mankind back to his heart.
But those who continue in rebellion and defiance will suffer eternal consequences.
As verse 17 states, "what shall be the end of those that obey not the gospel of God?"
We know...eternal separation from their Creator, the living God. Hell is enlarging itself daily as those, who don't accept the gift of salvation which Jesus made possible to all mankind, choose to live in defiance rather than submission to the will of God.
This isn't a scare tactic, but rather a sobering reminder of the value of our eternal soul.
"Cast all your cares upon God, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant, for your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour."
1 Peter 5:7-8
Whether we want to accept it or not, we each as individuals are in the devil's scope...he has us targeted to destroy us, and if we don't armour up daily, as
Ephesians 6:11-18 admonishes us to do, we will fall prey to his schemes and ultimately be destroyed.
The time is come...Matthew 24:33 states, "...it's even at the door."
Ready or not...
