Political, Cultural, or Biblical?

We are living in perilous times. And according to the Holy scriptures, evil men will wax worse and worse, meaning times will get more and more perilous.

We’ve entered an era, thanks to social media, where the whole world can know who does what to whom, when and where they do it, how they do it and many times why. 

There is no shame anymore. As Jeremiah, the weeping prophet of old stated, (because sin was just as rampant back then as it is now…our only difference is there’s more people on the globe), 

“Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination, ie, sin? Nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush. Therefore they shall fall among them that fall; at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the Lord.”

My son made a statement that prompted my train of thought in this writing.

He said, “Mom, we’re living in a realm where I classify Christians in three categories—Political, Cultural, and Biblical.”

As he continued to talk, it became very evident where he was going with this train of thought.

Nowadays everybody is Christian, you know. On any social platform or any online sites, such as NewsBreak, obituaries, etc, you see where people readily exude terms such as ‘fly high, brother’, ‘got his angels wings’, ‘in the arms of Jesus’, and many others. It doesn’t matter what kind of lifestyle someone is embracing at the time of death, it’s just accepted that they have gone on to the great beyond to be with Christ. Don’t think so, according to scriptures. DEI doesn’t exist in eternity without repentance, the blood of Christ having been applied, and fellowship with Christ before death. 

The DEI explosion isn’t just in the work place, my friend. The mindset of society today is that no matter what, YOU’VE got this. We got I trouble…me, myself, and I trouble. 

The Bible contradicts that mindset, proving those who have it have little to no knowledge of the Word.

“Oh, but I am a religious person, I go to church , I pay my tithes, etc.” Noted. Will enlarge on this mindset again in a few.

Let me get back to my original train of thought. 

The three categories of Christians my son related to are as follows:

Political Christian - this one has the mindset that it’s a must to be involved in the political arena because we should stand against any evil leadership tactics and embrace Godly values forthright. 

Uh well, we see that didn’t really pan out well in 2020, when the big C came in to play, and government did its best along with big pharma to mandate that everybody must take the jab to prevent its spread, only to find those who took the vax had the virus more than once, along with severe/deadly side effects, killing thousands upon millions; and continues here five years later, so the boosters can stay alive, thus the sickness/dying continues…imagine that. 

They stopped churches from having services, hmmm, and basically the mandates created rifts in family/social circles who didn’t adhere to their cause. 

The Amish and 3% of regular Americans didn’t succumb to the push for DEI inclusion, but rather stood against it. So, here we see the deceptive mess that politics enjoys bestowing upon citizens, even though we claim to live in the “land of the free, and the home of the brave.” 

Somehow, unless there is a serious divine intervention, in another 25+- years, that slogan will no longer be applicable to this great USA. 

The Political Christian fell right in to this category, feet first. Still trying to dig his way out, unsuccessfully one might add, but never to admit it. 

Cultural Christian - this one sadly has infiltrated from the pulpit to the back pew. Again, the DEI approach has weaseled its way into the body of Christ. As one preacher stated back in my younger years in a sermon he preached entitled, “If you can take it, you can make it”…there’s those who are called and sent, while many others just ‘went’; implying the ‘went’ bunch were in it for the money, especially today with millionaire preachers taking from many of their poor congregants—not the sent, the self-denial, self-sacrificing for the good of the poor, widowed and orphaned ones. Many who want to wear a title don't know how to wear a towel.Beware!

Now we are seeing the church has conformed to the world, rather than the world conforming to the church. 

Sadly, religion, which proceeds straight from the devil, has convinced the Cultural Christian that same old adage which the devil used in the garden way back when—“Hath God said?…you shall not surely die…”

Surely God wants ‘our help’ to reach out to the lost…let’s dim the lights, bring on the band, and in some cases even break out the booze, so we can reach them. Uh huh! Don’t believe me? Just go on YouTube and look at what cultural Christians are doing, in the name of “Christ”…it’s scary. I liken it to another old adage, “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.” Don’t think this mindset is going to fly when judgment day comes. 

Hardly a word spoken from the pulpit or pew regarding the cross, the blood of Christ, the sacrifice, the cost…now it’s all about love, acceptance, inclusion-don’t offend. As I say, “time will tell, it always does.”

Biblical Christian - this one readily accepts the unadulterated, God-breathed, Holy Spirit inspired, Word of God as his history book and road map for making eternity with Christ his objective while daily living while on this earth. 

The Biblical Christian can quote scriptures which are relevant to any given situation in life. He isn’t religious, doesn’t just go to church, pay his tithes, etc. He has a daily, ongoing, vibrant relationship with Jesus; when he sees a brother in need and has the means to meet that need, he does, with no thought of repayment. 

He repents of his sins daily because he knows there’s none righteous, no not one, except Jesus. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. 

Countless scriptures are quickened to his mind as he studies to show himself approved, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 

When confronted with dire circumstances which could cause many to be silenced, he is, like Jeremiah, the prophet of old, stated, “Then I said, ‘I will not make mention of Him, nor speak any more in His name.’ But His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones; and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not hold back.’”  He will not hold back from speaking his defense based on the word of God. 

The Biblical Christian has the ability to defend his relationship, as Jesus did in the wilderness, when He was confronted by the tempter aka satan, serpent, Lucifer, he countered every statement with “It is written…” and gave scripture after scripture until the tempter finally gave up, and the angels of the Lord came and ministered unto Christ. 

This is the approach of the Biblical Christian. There’s no pretense, no compromise, no conforming to the ways of the world. But he finds himself as the apostle Paul stated, being transformed by the renewing of his mind, to prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God. 

The Biblical Christian lives the gospel, he doesn’t pass the buck, he doesn’t try to justify not being obedient to God’s Word and will. 

Sadly, as time rocks on, the evidence of this category grows slim. 

Jesus said, on that day, when we stand before Him, there’s going to be many who try to justify all their ‘acts’…to which He will answer, “Depart from Me- I never knew you.”

Daily we make choices…daily we suffer consequences. It behooves each of us to strive to be the Biblical Christian, for a fulfilled life in Christ here and now, and also when we slip into eternity. 

As an old song says, 

“It will be worth it all when we see Jesus. 

Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ. One glimpse of His dear face, all sorrows will erase, so bravely run the race…til we see Christ!”
