About two months ago we added another loved one to our household. Our daughter called and asked if we wanted to give her dog a new home since he had practically ate her apartment. My husband had bonded with the puppy when we went out to visit our daughter in April. I knew that as soon as she told me that she was test driving a new puppy the night before we left to go see her in Oklahoma that he would be ours someday. My husband told her when we left that if she ever decided to get rid of him to call us.
Sure enough when we went to get him he was so big compared to the size that he was. He is a beautiful dog. He is reddish brown and looks alot like a golden retriever, with shorter ears. He is part chow and who knows what and has the softest hair. He thinks that he is a lap dog. He always wants to sit on my lap and sleep. He only weighs 35lbs. but he is so long. This dog is the sweetest thing. My husband calls him Little Pup Tucker, or Little Tuck Pupper.
Poor Scout, this dog is so big he just runs right over him. I finally got a dog fence, because he was so strong I was scared to walk him in the winter. I had fallen twice two years ago in one day walking the boston terriers. I couldn't imagine what he might do if I was on a slick patch of ice. If you ask Scout if he loves his brother he just jumps up and starts to lick you and wags his short little tail. The minute they get up in the morning I feed them and they go outside. They then run in the door and wrestle with each other. After they get worn out Tucker gets on my lap and goes to sleep. I used to rock Scout in the morning in my chair, but now Tucker is jealous of Scout and runs up when I am holding Scout and chases him off of my lap.
I feel sorry for Scout since Tucker has come, but he loves Tucker so much, the dog is only nine months old and is kind of clumsy and body slams Scout into the coffee table, or the bar, and if Scout tries to come in the door first Tucker just runs over him. Tucker does not seem to be able to feel a whole lot. This morning I didn't get the door open fast enough and he rammed the door with his head. He bangs his own head into things quite often.
Needless to say our house is now a zoo, but a very happy one. My mother-in-law's dog will be here in a couple of weeks when the snow starts. She is a pomeranian. She will run Tucker right out of the kitchen when he sees her. She is always top dog when she comes. All of our other dogs have been scared of her. All she does is show her teeth and make such a tiny noise they do not go near her. She weighs almost 9lbs. I cannot wait for the fun to start!!!
