This will only apply to us older folks that used to go to the Saturday afternoon matinée at our neighborhood movie theaters to see two movies; usually, at least one being a “western” and the other, “Boston Blackie” or “Charlie Chan” or, now and then, “Sherlock Holmes”. Also there was always a serial and a newsreel and a cartoon (or two) and a “Three Stooges” or “Laurel and Hardy” short.
Movies way back then would cost all of fifty cents.
I loved the westerns and my friends and I fell into one of two categories: some "Gene Autry" and some "Roy Rogers". I was definitely a Roy Rogers kind of a kid.
Ever wonder who all of those minor characters were that populated western after western after western? Those characters with few lines and a familiar face.
Well, this clip has pictures and names -- so after 50 or so years -- say "Howdy" to some of those general store, saloon keeper, blacksmith mini-heroes from our youth.
You'll have a tugging at your heart for some of these faces that have gone from our youth... And you'll love the music, so be sure your sound is up.
