Most of the time, there are several subjects my mind wishes to unload. When I settle on one, my pen travels back and forth across the paper until I can clear out some to the great thoughts that my mind stores.
Then, what shall I do? Maybe I will simmer over the gossip or, writhe over the loss of time and better still I’ll sit and grieve because my sister’s ill.
No, I do not think that is a good thing to do. A new thought just entered my mind. I was standing by the stream this morning. The water was so crystal clear and inviting. I stepped into the stream and noticed the water had changed. I walked up and down swishing my feet around and the water became very muddy. I reflected that a few minutes ago the water was crystal clear. Now, it is too muddy for me to play in. So, I stepped out of the stream and walked along the bank thinking how quickly the water became muddy. I gave a last glance into the stream and the water was clear as Crystal. Yes, that is it! Let it go, let it go to the ocean. Like the stream, it doesn’t have to clutter my mind. The stream is dazzling with no sign of mud. It is busy doing its thing.
Perhaps, my lesson is to let go of things that torment my mind and keep a charming attitude that will render wisdom with nonpareil results. I will stop by to visit my sister and comfort her and then, get back to my writing.
And then there is a no good day to write.
Oh, do I have a lot of these days.
Yesterday, my mind was so tired, I did not wish to think.
Then, a friend called and spread gossip that my mind loathed to process.
Three ladies came in with no intentions of leaving soon. They laughed, talked and giggled while I felt it all was a waste of time. I was so bored.
I received a call from home and my sister was rushed to the hospital and put in ICU. At this point, I can not go to visit her which makes a mind over-loaded.
As I sit and muse over my hook notes, I look across the mountains through my glass wall. I see naked trees except for the lichen green on the trunks. A place where different species of birds call home and search for food. Now and then, a deer dashes by. Cattle and horses graze on the hillside. Men with their four wheelers haul wood. All is quiet and serene.
