There is an evolutionary process to the awareness of spiritual thought.  Throughout history you can see who was or wasn’t in tune with their spiritual side.  Societies that prospered and failed all tell the signs of whether or not the people were aligned with goodness, enthusiasm and encouragement or controversy, racism and selfishness. Understanding how the tone and mood of a society or culture functions is a revelation of sorts that can clarify many misconceptions. What I always thought was amazing was how this Country was founded.  I think the development and maturity of this great Country is a lesson that many do not understand.  When we speak of our freedoms in the United States what does that really mean?  What is Freedom? Who decides our freedoms and does any one have the right to control  what freedoms we shall have?  Through my own journey I’ve come to realize that the greatest Freedom is that of expression of thought, speech and spiritual learning.  What the Declaration of Independence and Constitution created was the chance for us as human beings to evolve to a higher level of thought and possibilities.  Yes, we did have our struggles as a nation; we fought amongst each other and professed a horrible doctrine of slavery and racism, but somehow we continued on and changed for the better.  I think most of us respect our neighbors and embrace the different ethnic, religious and skin color variations.  This is what makes us so great.  We can co-exist when our interests vary so widely.  I remember reading a story where a Japanese soldier during World War II said that during the early battles of the war he saw the United States army coming up over a hilltop to engage his battalion and what he saw immediately changed his view on the outcome of the war.  He said that the faces of his enemy were not of one race but of different cultures and racial back rounds and this he thought was astounding.  He said if a country of mixed races can come together and fight for a common goal then none of us have a chance to defeat this armada. Well then, what do you think this common goal was?  At the time it was a fight against evil and controlling factions that harnessed deceptive philosophies of hate and manipulation so they could dominate and oppress the masses.  The countries we were at war with who was their leader?  Was their leader one who professed the same values written in the Declaration of Independence?  Did they speak and believe in the good for all men and women?  No, they did not and what happened to these countries who followed these institutions?  They were defeated by individuals whose faith was backed by sacrifice, faith, goodness and a belief that we all should live freely without the hands of men controlling our lives.  Where does this fall into what I am talking about?  If a country can be formed on a philosophy of all men are created equal and life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are  rights we are all born with then believing in the word of God is not such an infallible premise.  The foundation of the Declaration of Independence is rooted in the words and lessons of God our Father. It is the greatest example in History on how a doctrine of faith brought millions together  so peace and prosperity could spread among the population.  Continuing today and following the underlining philosophy does come with a price.  There are battles and enemies to fight to uphold and protect those who cannot fend for themselves.  People who still to this day are misguided and controlled by deceptive lies of ignorance and hate need the intervention of words from our Father.  We as a species are still growing, maturing and evolving to live freely and comprehend the inherent powers we have to enable us to appreciate and enjoy the gift of life.  The battles we fight are the forces of ignorance, falsehoods and fears that continually trick and deceive the majority of the world.  What is so obvious to me now is that peace is always constant; it is there whenever we want it, but for some reason man will shy away and continue his misguided ways. But today a doctrine written 200 years ago will once again help lead those who are lost and misguided.  It is this day where the Declaration of Indepence shall rise to the forefront and once again establish itself as one of the greatest pieces of writing man has ever created.  It shall be looked upon as the prevailing educator that kept this Country together.  It is the truth of its words and values we as a Country must abide by; it is the reason why President Obama is now our President.  We are a great Country.  Let us not forget that we are a melting pot; people every day make there way to the United States for a better life, a more promising future.  Why?  Because most know that their saving grace, aside from God and Faith is the epic writing of the Declaration of Independence.  On this historical day, take time out and  read the Declaration of Independence and comprehend what an historical doctrine it truly is; how men and women came together, oppressed by years of tyranny created such a wonderful essay built on God and mans right for freedom.

America be proud.  The best of us is just starting to shine through.
