We all believe we know what the definition of peace is, but peace is not a physical attribute and we did not invent its meaning. Taking another look through eyes that are willing to accept a different explanation gives new meaning to peace.

The Denial of Peace

What is peace? Do we really think we know? It seems peace is what we seek for in the outer world. When the world is at war, we try to make an adjustment in the world so it can be put right and we can feel safe. But safety is from a peaceful idea, and peaceful ideas do not originate in time or by anything that we understand from a physical standpoint. It is difficult for us to discern that we do not understand peace and it is this that keeps us in denial of what we so desperately want.
In each of our own minds, we have our own explanation of what peace means. We are not quite sure how we got the explanation, we are just sure that what we behold is not our idea of what peace looks like. Because everyone’s external idea of peace is different, we see many people trying to change the world to conform to an individuals internal expression of peace that has never been put into words. In other words, I don’t like what is going on in the world, and I don’t like how it makes me feel, so I will try to change the world to reflect how I think peace should feel. When I accomplish this, then I will have thrust my idea onto the physical plane, and somehow I will have accomplished my idea of peace and I will feel better. But this doesn’t work. It doesn’t work because we cannot thrust an idea of peace into a conflict. Forcing our ideas of peace into the arena of a conflict only adds to the conflict. It also separates us from the internal explanation of the idea of peace. The desire to force our ideas is very strong. So strong in fact that we will do things we normally would not do to get our point across. When we are under the illusion that we carry the idea of peace within our own mind, we really want to give it to the world and will go to great means to do just that, even to the point of bodily harm. This adds to the conflict that has already been thrust upon the world. By doing this we are denying that it is possible for peace to be in the midst of war. In other words our focus is on trying to change what we do not want, which is how war started in the first place. How can we change what someone else does not want, by forcing our ideas of what we do not want on them?
In truth, there is only one peace and we, in the physical realm, did not create it. We do not even understand it because it does not originate in our mind it originates in the Mind of God. Peace does not originate, it just is. By trying to force our intentions of peace upon the world, we deny what is and this means we are in denial of truth. Praying for peace is a way we try to compensate for the misaligned thought of war within our own mind. Praying for peace means we are in denial of the Law of Peace by believing what we see as being real. This means we recognize that there are laws that exist outside of the Mind of God, and if they exist outside of the Mind of God, then He can’t do anything about the war. This places us in a position of trying to change our outside circumstances by blocking a war thought with a peace thought, but peace is real, and war is not, so blocking war is a denial of what is already in existence in truth. War does not have to be blocked; it just has to be recognized by enough of us that it is an impossibility. Peace is the only reality that there is in truth.
By recognizing war, we believe that peace is not real. It is this that needs correction. What would happen if everyone stopped believing in war and only recognized peace? Would peace exist if it was only recognized in our own mind? It is possible because it is here that thoughts originate. Our problem is not in the belief that peace is real, it is in the belief that God has any power to do anything about it. Even our prayers are a way of trying to block the idea of war and blocking war is a way of blocking peace. Blocking anything is a way the mind tries to resist what it does not want. Resistance means that what we think we see is real and if we believe war is possible, we will try to block it. The problem lies in what we are looking at. If what we are looking at is war, it is real to the mind, so our mind is actually creating the conflict. As within, so without. There is no difference.
We do not believe our thoughts are that powerful. We do not believe we can change the world by looking at peace instead of war, but even in the midst of war there is peace because Love exists everywhere. It is in the blade of grass left on a war torn field. It is in the love of a mother for her child as she protects her child out of the love she feels. It is in the kindness of a soldier offered to a perceived enemy when it is recognized they are the same because they both have a family at home. It is in a candy bar given by a soldier to a child. It is the love between two soldiers that fight beside one another. Love even exists in battle. These may be recognized as scraps of love in war by mankind, but it is the only thing that is recognized in Heaven. The rest doesn’t matter.
Peace and Love looks for ways to express themselves in any manner they can. They find what is the same and overlook what is different by joining the same thought by what is beheld. When we do not recognize them, we close our eyes to the revelation of what is real and focus our attention on what keeps us different, or war like. Peace is now. We do not have to wait; peace is waiting on our recognition. Without our recognition we believe what is unreal and use what is unreal for purposes of annihilation of the human race. By focusing our attention away from what is real, meaning is given to what has no meaning. Meaning of anything comes from our own awareness of what something means, or our thoughts. But we do not believe our thoughts have any power. Not like our physical might does. But if we could not think, what profit would anything have? Our value is in our thoughts, so this is where truth lies and also where change occurs, not in the expression of war, but in our thoughts that causes us to express. Peaceful thoughts create peaceful conditions. Conflicted thoughts create war. It is that simple.
Many may think that if they do nothing, then they are agreeing with war. It is as if there was a choice to be made that does not include a Higher Idea of Peace. The choice between our ideas of war and peace do not include the Higher Idea of Peace. Not accepting our idea of peace does not mean we accept war, it just means that we do not have the correct interpretation of what real peace means, so we choose to accept what we do not understand. Because the mind was created to seek understanding, once it believes it has the correct interpretation, it will act on its belief even if it is wrong. When we refuse to listen to the drama that is being played out in the mind, or the conflict, our mind has no choice except to find another understanding. This happens because of our refusal to consciously get caught in the drama. Consciousness has the ability to take the mind out of the conflict. Once the mind has been taken out of the conflict, it is then up to the Higher Mind to take over, this is the Christ Consciousness that has the ability to correct our thinking. Remaining involved in the correction process is interference from the part of our mind that does not know and will remove us from the correct interpretation. The process is simple, but it is not easy because the mind has found value in what it thinks it knows and protects its thinking process, even if it is bringing fear to us and is therefore wrong.
If we do not use the process of correction, we have the dilemma of trying to use our thoughts to create peace, but if peace already exists, how can we create peace? Once again, it is our recognition of the conditions of peace that are necessary. Thoughts of peace do not emanate from our mind’s awareness of what peace is. Peace comes from a Higher Awareness that is not held within anything we understand while living in the physical realm, so we have to trust that there is something that we do not understand. That we do not understand is the first step in recognizing the true explanation of peace. If we are full of our own ideas of what peace is, then how can we receive what we think we already have? By stepping away from what we think we know, we open our mind and allow peace to be reintroduced into time through higher understanding. It is this understanding that shifts our perception and brings new meaning to a seeming hopeless situation that no one agrees on. It is only this new perception that can bring hope and breathe new life into the world that is worn out and tired of the ideas that have been recycled over and over again to no avail.
A line has been drawn in the sand. The line is in our own mind and in our own way of thinking. One side reflects war and insanity. The other side reflects the Laws of Love and Peace. We can choose the path that most people do not walk on because it requires Might that does not come from physical strength. It requires us to step aside and allow a Force that has the strength and ability to end conflict for all time to move ahead of what we think we know about peace. There is a saying that goes something like this: When good people see bad things and do nothing, then the bad will flourish. We are not being asked to do nothing, we are instead being asked to use our mind to recognize peace. Unconditional Love can only be found in the state of peace, so it is up to us to begin to seek for ways finding the conditions of peace, which can only exist in our own mind.
It is in the unity of a nation as we all move together. Unity is a Spiritual Law and it does not recognize war. It recognizes group support. It recognizes strength in moving in a united idea, and is not based in the notion that war is real. The United States is the only nation in the world that recognizes the higher Spiritual Law of Unity. It also is based on the recognition of freedom of its occupants, which is another Spiritual Law. The Law of Unity means that we all move together as one. It is only in unity that anything can be accomplished. This may sound like a contradiction, but from a Spiritual Law base, even though war is not recognized in the higher realm, the Law of Unity is. We may not want war or support it, but we can support the Law of Unity. We may believe that if we support the Law of Unity, then we are supporting the war. This is not the truth. To understand the Law of Unity, we have to let go of our notion about what unity means in truth. We can choose to be united in the idea of extending peace. This will not contradict the Law of Peace or the Law of Unity. We can choose to be united in the idea of extending freedom. This will not contradict the Law of Freedom. It comes from how we look at it, not from how we think it is. It is our belief that peace, unity and freedom are being violated that offends us. In truth it is impossible to violate these Laws because they were created in the arena that exists beyond our capacity to understand. This does not mean that we necessarily agree with the war we see externally, it just means that we choose to deal with external war by keeping an internal peace. Internal peace is how we choose to align our mind with Higher Laws that supercede laws that are held in time.
There is another question being asked. The question is not how we should handle war; it is who we believe has the ability to establish peace in time. Peace will never come to us; it will be ushered through the mind that believes only in peace by recognizing that there are only Higher Laws that we can place ourselves under. Doing this establishes and fulfills the prophecy that says; Peace and goodwill towards all men. And the lion will lay down with the lamb, and a child will lead them all. Children do not recognize differences. They only recognize what is the same and seek to share what is the same. This is the gift of innocence and also the righteousness that is spoken of in the Bible. We all still have this. It is found in a blade of grass on a killing field. It is found in a chocolate bar given to a child in the midst of war. It is found in a mother protecting her child from devastation. It is found in the love between two soldiers fighting together and protecting each others life as if it were there own. This is what innocence would find. This is the gift that is being extended to us so we can embrace our true inheritance of peace. It is in the kindness of devastation that we find Love flourishing. War is not greater than Peace or the Love that Peace envelops. There is nothing greater than a thought of True Peace.
