When value is given to something that in reality has no value, we are in violation of a Spiritual Law. Value comes from who we are. When we learn otherwise, the mistake must be correceted so we can give to the world the gift that we have agreed to give.

In our society it seems as though one of our main concerns is money. Most of the time when we look for a job, we do not look for work on the basis of whether or not it will be something we love to do, rather it is based on how much it pays. There is a predominant belief that our own value lies in how much money we make and how many material possessions we have. The creative process, or what we do best, is often set aside in favor of material wealth. From a spiritual standpoint value must be appraised in another way. Because we have to follow Laws that conform and answer to a Higher Authority, when we do not follow those Laws we are in violation of Higher Laws and will therefore pay the penalty. This is not because we are being punished, it is because value has been placed where there is no value and a correction must occur so Laws can be used for our protection and also for our happiness.
Much of what we learn about money and material possessions comes from our parents. Our parents teach us what was taught to them. When we are born, we know we bring value to life without ever being told. As we become indoctrinated into the physical realm, well meaning adults teach us different laws that conflict with Higher Laws of life. Many times we are taught the “value of a dollar”. By learning the value of a dollar, the value of our own being is brought into question. The focus of value begins to dawn in our mind that value is outside of ourselves and so we begin to pursue a path where we believe value lies. Seeking for value is a Law of Mind, and wherever our mind believes there is value, it will seek to obtain it as a precious commodity. In other words, when we learn that money has value, we cease to have the value we were born with. This places us in violation of a Spiritual Law and if correction does not occur, we will find it very difficult to be successful because we will be settling, or doing what we don’t want to do to “get” what we want. This also places us in a position of being in violation of Higher Laws because giving and receiving are a part of those Laws and getting is in opposition. As we mature, we will constantly be in a “having to get” mode in order to survive.
Each individual that enters the physical realm has entered with a particular gift that they came to share with the world. This gift is what they love to do, and it is called the creative process. It is an internal gift that creates constructively on the physical plane. Because it is a gift that God has shared with this particular individual, this specific gift is what he/she has agreed to share as a talent with the world. Sharing is also a Spiritual Law and when the creative process is not shared, another violation occurs. Each creative gift is a part of a Grand Plan, that when it is all put together, becomes the salvation of the world, or the Second Coming of Christ.
The gift is unique to each individual because of the energy that is attached to each individual as they enter the physical realm. To be in denial of the gift is in essence to be in denial of the Self. By going contrary to the nature or energy that an individual possesses is to bring about problems of stress, conflict, unhappiness, disease and even the possibility of death. This could be likened to the sun deciding that it did not want to shine its light anymore. The question would be; how could it be turned off? Yet that is what we do when we deny our own creative process and trade it for a few dollars. Because we are God’s Treasure, our own value is even greater than the value of the sun, and yet we do not see ourselves as thus and so we try to turn our gift off.
Many have tried to do what they love to do and have not been successful because they have not found a way to make money with their gift. But the creative process creates a life, whereas money makes a living, so what we have is the opportunity to “create” or to choose to make something that is less than satisfactory that excludes us from our true potential. Our value at some point has to shift so we can understand that value lies not in anything physical but instead within ourselves.
At a spiritual level, God does not understand money. It is a piece of paper that does nothing. At its greatest potential, it can burn and be transformed into smoke. This is its only value. Only God’s Creation has value to Him, and it is this that is His Treasure. When we do not value ourselves, but instead find value in a piece of paper, He does not understand. As He looks to us as His Treasure, and we look to money or a piece of paper, we devalue the gift of creativity that He has instilled in each of us as the gift we have come to bring to the world.
The truth is that the creative potential in each of us has the ability to uphold the monetary system of the world. When viewed from the other way around, a piece of paper cannot uphold all of the economic systems in the world. It is too fragile, and does not have the backing of the creative process or God. The truth is that money should work for us; we should not work for money. Money is a tool for us to use. Working for money means that we have applied a law of mind in reverse. We have to ask, what has more value, money or an individual? We have all heard of stories of individuals being turned away because they do not have the money to pay. This is a violation of Spiritual Law, and eventually the price will be paid. Not because we are being punished, but because we will reap what we sow. As we learn to find the same value that God does, we learn that we live by Grace, not by money. The reason we find it hard to use our creative talents is because we cannot use them until we appreciate (another Spiritual Law) or understand our own self worth. If we are using our creative talent strictly to make money, or value the money over what we give to another, it is our belief that will have to be straightened out so our creative process will support us.
We all know people who seemingly do well just working for money. It is difficult to tell by appearances why another does well or why they do not. We are all on the physical plane learning different lessons. It has come to the point in the evolutionary process that it will become more and more difficult to just work for money. The element of creativity and love will have to accompany the reason for doing anything. The stress of holding ourselves away from the purpose or reason why we are here will become obvious by how we feel and we will suffer the consequences of deciding that money is more important than we are.
Learning a lesson such as this has not been left to our discretion because we do not know how or when we began to believe that we had less value than money. A Plan has been devised for each individual to help him/her get in touch with the value that God has placed on them. It involves healing and re-learning Laws that the rest of creation lives by. How do we get in touch with this Plan? We ask and because we want it more than what we have learned to value on the physical plane our request is granted. With a sincere request we are introduced to people, we find others, and our dreams begin to take on a significance that we may not have been in touch with before. Learning the Plan that has been specifically devised for each individual is the journey that we hear so much about. It is the journey of self discovery. It takes trust and faith because following a path that does not seem clearly marked seems beyond our capacity to undertake. It is up to each person to make the choice to live as the rest of creation lives, appreciating what is real, or giving appreciation to something that does not have the ability to give appreciation back. The choice remains our own.
