Purpose comes from God. When we try to give ourselves another purpose, we are trying to prove something that is not real.

Purpose
Rev. Cheril Goodrich ©

Mind must have purpose. The purpose of mind is love, peace, beauty, harmony, joy, happiness, etc. This is also what the mind is. There is no distinction between being, which is purpose, and having, which is love, peace, beauty, harmony, joy, happiness, etc.
Purpose or mind doesn’t have beauty, it is beauty. It doesn’t have love, it is love. This is true of all the qualities we try to obtain from a physical standpoint to show that we have the things in the physical realm that prove our purpose. The part of our mind that needs understanding is awareness and is found in the mind/body experience where destructive patterns are stored once learned when we began to believe we were the physical experience we were having. When purpose is changed from being creatively constructive, it becomes creatively destructive when it is stored in the mind/body. Creating destructively means the mind has learned something that is not based in truth. Learning such as this places the mind in a position of believing it must do what is necessary to prove it is right even if it is wrong. In other words it is trying to prove something that is impossible to prove. Such as, when we believe we are not lovable, we try to prove falsely that this is a possibility. But because it is untrue we try to surround ourselves with false witnesses that show us a false reality. This is one of the reasons why we feel depressed. We think we have to prove something that will ultimately bring about our own demise by pointing to a false reality that lies beyond our own being that says we are unlovable.
The mere fact that time cannot be scientifically proven can be used to show us that we are trying to prove a false reality that ends in our own destruction. In reality it is impossible to prove destruction, but in time it is possible, and so the mind takes out its destructive tendencies on the body and also the world. This is the ego ruled mind, which is found in the mind/body illusion. It is also a false presentation based on a learning experience that taught us that reality lies where it is not, which is outside of the realm of eternity.
While residing in the body, it seems the body and purpose are separate. Our mind believes it can become what it is doing because physical vision has distorted the facts. When the mind does not understand that purpose comes from its being and not what it is doing, it will employ our consciousness to try to devise ways to make something happen that will prove the false purpose we have given ourselves, such as not being lovable. This is a clear violation of purpose, because purpose comes from God, not from a distorted perception of a learned physical experience. A distorted purpose that is held in mind must be changed, or the error will continue to distort our real purpose. This can only be changed from a higher level of awareness in mind because change cannot occur at the same level a mistake is occurring. In other words, I will never get anyone to tell me that I am lovable, and if I did, I would not believe them anyway, so another thought that is higher has to interrupt the unstable thought so it becomes stable again.
If I was standing on a railroad track, and a train was coming straight at me, what could I do to change the outcome? The truth is if I did not make a decision to move off the tracks, then I would be hit by the train. Therefore, my decision to move is greater than the train or any circumstance that I may view myself as being in. But to make the kind of decision that will change the purpose of an incorrect decision that says I am unlovable, I have to find out when I decided that I was unlovable. In other words, I was not born believing I was unlovable, I learned it and my mind had taken that decision and is using it against my being or purpose of being lovable. Now I must entertain the idea that there is another kind of Help that can re-establish my lovability in my own mind, because it is only here that it is really in question. If the purpose of being unlovable in my own mind can be changed to being lovable then the purpose has been properly re-established and I will stop trying to prove the impossible idea that I am unlovable by finding others that support me in my assumption.
When the mind takes a body (spirit becoming flesh) it still is purpose, and its purpose is to share the qualities it was endowed with at the time of creation, which are the peaceful conditions found in Heaven. We see this in the unconditional love a baby expresses before it learns what acceptable behavior in a body means. The child emanates innocence because the mind is innocent. Who does not love to gaze upon the innocence of a child and have great appreciation for what they behold? This is because we recognize in the child “purpose”, or that which we believe we have lost in time.
As a body matures, purpose begins to change. The eternal qualities that were recognized in the child are put aside as being “not safe” to have while occupying time and a body. Thoughts of love are overshadowed by what a child has to learn about acceptable behavior while living in a body and behavior is what we do, it is not who we are. Therefore judging behavior violates the sanctity of being and also purpose. This happens when the child first senses something that is not part of the love idea or purpose. This first thought that contradicts a love idea injects fear into the life of the child. This injected fear becomes part of the child’s existence by becoming part of the child’s chemical make up or the mind/body experience. In other words he/she becomes the thought by taking it within the chemical make up of the body. Purpose has now changed. The chemistry of health has also taken an alternate route, and within time the new chemistry that is now entertained in the mind/body may become disease, or possibly depression or something else that is unhealthy. The purpose of the child has become a thought that has nothing to do with love, but has something to do with what it has learned in time. This thought has to do with fear and is learned by observing practices in time, or by the child having been “properly” reprimanded that love is not an appropriate response in certain situations. Now we have a child mind whose true purpose is love, that has had its purpose changed to something else and is trying to prove that the something else and is its true purpose. The child is up against odds that are impossible for him/her to win. First of all the child is trying to prove that his/her true purpose is not true by proving the Creator wrong. This will make the people in time right and it will also make time real and Heaven wrong and also unreal. These mistakes that must be corrected through recognition on our part that something is wrong and it is indicated by the way we feel.
In reality purpose does not changed. It is just the mind of the child that is confused about what his/her purpose is. For instance, some people like to ride a roller coaster, but this person does not confuse him/herself with the ride. If the mind forms a judgment about the ride, the ride loses its neutral meaning. The feelings on a roller coaster do not constitute purpose nor do they inject ideas that a person has to live with forever. It is just an experience that has nothing to do with truth. If there is a problem it only arises in the mind of the rider and the experience of one rider does not exist in the mind of another, so it can’t be true . When the mind confuses itself with the ride the error or mistake is felt within the body and it mistakenly becomes purpose held within the body. It is an uncomfortable sensation or body impulse that we feel happening in the body when the mind is reminded of the roller coaster ride. We may become extremely anxious and when this occurs we will not associate the ride with the anxiety, but the mind has been reminded of the past and is trying to control the doing level, or our behavior, by creating anxiety that will ultimately prevent us from doing what the mind feels is fearful. We may not even be in a situation that resembles the roller coaster ride consciously, but to the mind that has stored the information in the body, the symbol is the same. An association has been made by the mind to the roller coaster and now the mind is using fear as a protective measure to ensure that this particular incident will not recreate the past. Only by showing the mind that the ride is over will the mind be free to return to its original purpose and once again remember the Love that created it. This frees it of the purpose set forth for it in time. It also frees the destructive creative nature of the mind/body illusion of fear.
In truth, we can only fulfill our true purpose. By taking another purpose, we have not done anything in reality; we have only stalled being the purpose of love for a short time. The tragedy of this is that while we live in time we lead lives of desperation because we have tried to make something true that runs parallel to the ideas of truth. Reality has nothing to do with the mind/body illusion and while we try to make corrections to a problem that does not really exist, we continue to “fix” what has no basis in reality. The corrections that we are being asked to make, is not to look directly at an unreality, make it true , and then make it an unreality again. This is ridiculous. We are being asked to look directly at our mistakes and recognize them as unreality. Until we do this, we will continue to try prove something that is impossible to prove, and we will be wrong. There is a whole new thought system that is being introduced into time. We can continue to look at unreality as purpose, or we can look at the real truth and recognize it as our purpose and heal the world.
