Being witness to someone crossing over. Something like what was shown in 'Ghost' with Patrick Swayze.

I connected with an energy worker in late 2006. I needed help to understand why the woman I consider my soulmate would chose to be with a possessiive family over a telepathically spiritual connection with me. Over the next 5 years, the fellow energy worker would ease the pain I would feel continuously, and she provided insight into the life my soulmate was leading. The energy worker, aged 56, passed away mid May this year (2011) from type 4 lung cancer, and according to all friends and relatives, the cancer came as a complete shock to all, including her, and whom I will refer to as 'my friend'. As a side note, and indication she knew nothing of her condition, ealier in the month she noted her counselling sessions would resume by mid month.

The following passage is a recounting of what I was invited to witness while at work. You need to remember, I am quiet person and go into semi-trances at will, and most of the time, asked to enter these trances by spirit guides.

The crossing over celebration happened Friday, May 20 , starting at about 12:30 when a shower of pure white light was projected to my right and slightly up. I went into a semi-trance and entered the light. My friend was  25 or 35, or 35 but feeling like 25. She was in a forest and kneeling in front of 2 incredibly massive redwood trees in humanoid form. Something like the trees in the Lord of Rings movies. I think they were her guides, and from the information given, the guides create an environment comfort the person crossing over.
I think she was being given a history lesson of Earth, and from I understood, these beings were ancient, at least twice as old as Earth. I think they represented the cosmos, and helpers of God though I sensed God was immeasurable in comparison.
This meeting continued for about 10 to 15 minutes, but I was under the impression the meeting was lasting about a week or more in that space of time. I was disconnected from time to time after that, and from what I understand, I was not meant to hear or experience some things.
I was reconnected when a party was going on for her. I think she was reconnecting with people or entities not seen in a long time, though not necessarily family who were alive and but passed away when she was alive. More like souls or energy she knew before incarnating into the person we all knew.
I think this party was the 1st step in moving her into another level or frequency of energy. She felt more at ease as a spirit, and I sensed she was growing stronger as such.
I was told and shown her next assignment, something about teaching a new form of spirituality to younger souls. I could not grasp the details. Far too complex for me to understand, but I was under the impression she would need about 300 years to accomplish that goal. I think she is to reincarnate in about 300 years to become someone like Merlin. Her job makes sense to me. If humans are to evolve spiritually and to practice techniques such as telekenisis, levitation, or strong magick, or be proficient at being clairvoyant, then they need to be taught to the point where these skills are an innate trait at birth.
While all of this stuff was happening, I was being given a lesson in life philosophies. Incredible, and some of these philosophies confirmed my beliefs.
The connection closed for about an hour, but I felt something powerful going on with much happiness.
I was preparing to leave work for the weekend when my friend appeared as a bright and luminescent butterfly with huge huge wings. That sight brought closure for me, and assured me she accepted her new life and was ready to take it on, but she would be here for a few more days to take care of unfinished human family business.
I think she appeared to me on the bus on the way home to let me know I could count on her for comfort and advice if need be. On a funny note, I feel her more now than I did prior to her passing. I think everyone who knew her will feel her for some time to come. The magick whe practiced was her strength. She knew how to connect to people on the soul level. When she was alive I could feel her projecting from Earth outward. Now I can feel her projecting down from the usual place, and I feel her more strongly now than I did when she was my mentor.
