Aging is a surprise for most of us. I think it is important to journal our thoughts before we can't find our glasses. Touch is what we are left with when dementia takes over. When I rubbed my dying parent's, they in turn rubbed mine and we all cried.

Massages: How to Give and Get Joy

Many of us cannot afford to get a professional massage. It might be a good idea to have a massage party with your friends or family. It would probably be better to separate the men and women and/or keep couples massaging each other. Massage has been known to wake up the libido for both sexes. Wives especially like to be massaged by their husbands. They are aroused by coconut, vanilla and lavender scented soaps. You may even want to look for a massage school in your area. It makes a great career path. Many chiropractors and doctors are opening up areas for massage in their clinics.

How to give or get powder, lotion and oil Massages

Squeeze the most out of your life by getting or giving a massage. How to do this might surprise you. But even if you’re just sitting in a chair, there are ways of massaging your worries, aches and pains away. Undeniably, the body is as important as life itself. It is probably the least paid attention to. Oh, we want to look good but how many of us actually go chiropractors to tune up our bodies? Getting a uplift for your body is like pressing the restart button on a computer. Action speaks louder than words. Karen Bradley, a visiting associate professor of dance at the University of Maryland says. ”Take a minute to write your name in cursive with your eyeballs, or count your teeth with your tongue, or just hum along with some music. The muscles around your eyes will relax; your jaw will relax; you will start to breathe more deeply.” The body needs to be massaged.

We all know when our body is trying to tell us something. Our head hurts, our back hurts or we’re eating too much or not enough. Men sweat and women perspire. There are bad hair days especially when we are feeling down or sick. We use caffeine, carbohydrates and sugar to energize ourselves. There are those that who are popping some kind of pain relievers, vitamins and/or supplements. Even though many are exercising to look good; what are doing for our bodies to make them feel good? Have you ever witnessed a dog running after a stick? They look genuinely happy like they are smiling. "The definition of massage is to stroke, manipulate, tap, or apply rubbing pressure to whole body from head to toe. The word “massage” means “friction or kneading,”

We can massage with one hand, both our hands, or use our feet, elbows and forearms.  “Massage is one of the oldest healing arts for joint and circulatory problems…Massage therapy has also been proven beneficial for many chronic conditions, including lower back pain. An, arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes, immunity suppression, infertility, smoking cessation, depression, and more.” says the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals. I’m not making any guarantees that massages will make you beautiful or cure you of disease. But, they will make you smile which will keep your immunity up. What is more contagious than smiling? A massage can also reduce your heart rate to a more peaceful pace; as well as enhance the likelihood of building closer proximity with someone you love.

Every body deserves a little rubbing the right way. Whether the “right” way is sensual or medicinal is all up to you. I am not a doctor and would suggest, as always, you seek the advice of a competent professional for advice on medicinal massages. This article is for informational and recreational purposes only. We’re all yearning to discover new and deeper connections with others. You don’t have to have a medical degree to give or get a soothing massage. Before you start, put a plain cotton sheet or pad under you. I usually wear a bodysuit when giving a massage. You can place your partner in a massage chair or lay him stomach down on a massage table. You might play New Age music which will help relax you both. Listen to your partner’s suggestions. We all know what works best for us but that might not be what works best for others. Try all three positions once and then vary them. Again, I guess what you want to accomplish is how you determine what position to put your partner in. Massage reintroduces you to what is best about human; that is our sense of touch. Touching is often one of the first signs of falling in love. We  hold hands and touch each other’s face when saying “Hi or  Good-bye.” If we’re not touching one another, we’re not communicating.

Be warned that massage can build better communication, trust as well as  spawn affectionate advances. Anything we do to improve our body’s estate will be medicinal to the body and to our senses. And, don’t forget the kids. They enjoy a good rub down from parents!  On rainy days many of us are feeling either downright uncomfortable or sore from arthritis, bursitis and other aches and pains.  Surprise your partner or your kids with a soothing massage. Have them return the favor. You know how fun it is to hold hands; just think of massaging as another way of holding hands. Our hands work very hard for us. Whether you’re giving or getting a massage, it is great for our hands. There’s nothing like caring for the elderly. As you grapple with the logistical and psychological stress of elder-care, don’t forget to give yourself some time off to rejuvenate your own senses. Caring for the elderly is hard on the nerves, the heart and our backs. We need to be massaged as much as they do.  If you’re one of thirty-four million or so Americans who are caring for an older relative, give them a massage every week or so. Talk to them all the time whether they can talk back or not.  Make it a special time for you both. I took care of both my dying parents. They both mentioned wanting to be talked to and touched. Touch is what we are left with when dementia takes over our loved ones. When I rubbed my parent's hands, they in turn rubbed mine and we all cried.

I didn't believed in acupuncture until my pains were so unbearable that I would have tried anything but pain-killers.
He was old, gentle and had what is called warmth-hands. A Chinese "doctor" that landed in Norway after been persecuted for being critical to his town politicians corruption.
I was skeptical of him, his hands and his needles (I had been stuck with bigger "needles" than his)
But wonders of wonders! the treatment worked.
How to get and give joy most have been his way to go about.
