Learning to write and read cursive is fun and instinctual. Most of us enjoy the individual uniqueness of our own hand. Nobody writes the same. We all get excited when hearing our name or seeing our signature. No text or email voice saying, “You’ve got mail!” will ever take the place of a scrawling script saying,
“I love you mom.”

Cursive writing is an art form with swoops, angles and curling that is unique to each of us and is especially good exercise for developing a child’s fine motor skills. No two handwritten letters are the same. Leaning to write in cursive takes time and organizational thought. It takes quiet to concentrate. It takes perseverance to learn to stay in between the lines.
