Are you ready to be happier? Becoming happy is actually quite easy. This is what the experts have found out. After reading this you’ll be able to turn yourself into a happy person and find out what discoveries are in the future.
Daily Way to Be Happy
Meliksah Demir, assistant professor of psychology at Northern Arizona University, explained that certain things make us happy. Demir headed research projects into what brought on this feeling. Demir significantly raised the feeling of happiness in a group of test subjects.
Each subject was asked to perform random daily acts of kindness to others for two weeks. In addition, they were told set and achieve certain goals. "Every person who participated in this study got happier. Reaching goals, kindness and volunteer work enhance one's well-being," said Demir.
When you think of it this makes sense. It’s certainly well-known that giving makes you feel happier especially when the recipient shows gratitude. Think of how you feel around the festive season. How do you feel when a child’s face lights up as they open the gift you gave them?
So if you want to feel happier be kind to others. Help people who are struggling. Open a door for someone. Help someone with their heavy shopping.
Happiness is in Light and Knees
Ned Rozell, a science writer at the Geophysical institute of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, explained how knees and light effect your mood.
He mentioned that experiments have shown full spectrum light, on the back of the knee, raise the mood. The experiments showed that light shone on the back of the knee improves mood by somehow reaching the brain. It’s believed that the light must reach the brain via the bloodstream or some other channel. This may be due to the skin’s thinness and blood vessels being close to the surface in this area.
Rozell also pointed out that this could become the future answer to jet lag. He explained that by wearing light pads behind the knees the body clock could be re-set on long journeys crossing time lines.
The easiest way for us to be happy is very simple start being kind to others whenever you can. As far as using light goes you can buy full-spectrum lights. They have been shown to lift your mood in the darker, more depressing, months of the year.
