Over 1000 entries from 10 states for Arkansas Writers Conference
Local writers and poets from the Cherokee Writers Guild, Dr. Earl Belcher, C. Allan Butkus, Michael Livingston, Cheri Quattrochi and Patricia A. Oplinger, received awards in June at the Arkansas Writers Conference.
Competition was fierce with 1000 entries from 10 states. Awards were presented at a banquet held in the Holiday Inn Presidential.
Pat Oplinger won the Swann Kohler Essay Award for "Another Kind of Needy", the On the Spot Poetry Award for "Nourishing You", and 3HM for prose in the Grand Conference Award II for "Reality Check".
