Faith C. Shaw, 10 of Newport News has had her book, "The Forest of Creation: The Adventure Begins," published. A student of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School, Shaw began writing her story around late August or early September of last year, and worked on it thorugh December.  "Nothing really inspired me, " Shaw said of the book's plot and theme.  "I was just used to writing.  My mother encouraged me to write.  I was just writing, and it just became longer and longer."  In addition to putting herself in the story, she included two real-life friends, Izzy Rossi and Amy Blackwell.  For the illustrations, Shaw added, "Our publishers gave us some Web sites, and Daddy helped me pick out the pictures."  She said she's ready to start a new story.  For more information visit www.theforestofcreation.com
