Life consists basically of four important circles of life. They are our inner self, our family, our work and our community. Each one of them consists of worthwhile causes which can be enhanced through commitment and dedication. Each cause is an ideal or purpose to which we can devote time and energy.

In this article Phil discusses ways in which we enhance these four important aspects.

Our inner self consists of our body, our mind and our spirit. All three of them are intimately interconnected. Each one of them is worthwhile to enhance as a cause because each of them is essential for our wellbeing and to attain success in what we do. We can accept the wellbeing of our body as a cause to care for our health through proper diets and exercise. We can decide to enhance our minds as a cause through continuous learning and to enhance our spiritual life as a cause through dedication.

Our family is the inner circle of our personal relationships. The family comes first and foremost in all our responsibilities. In the family we are committed to the cause of creating a home with love and care in the true sense of the word. We are committed to enhance the upbringing and education of our children. We are committed to enhance the cause of providing in the financial necessities of life.

Our work and the organization where we work is the place where we spend a great part of our life. We work, not only for money, but more importantly because it provides us with an opportunity to apply our knowledge and skills, to be creative, to work in teams, to see the end results of our work. It is important to have a broader outlook, to understand the structures and functions of the organization

We are all part of circles of communities. We live in an immediate community, e.g. a neigbourhood, which is a part of a larger community, a city. The city is part of a province, which is part of a country, which in turn is part of the world community. The wellbeing of our circles of communities is important for everybody’s wellbeing, including our own. We have an obligation to contribute to the wellbeing of our communities through community service. This can be done by joining groups where our talents and skills can be helpful. Community service through specific interest groups is a cause which will enhance the wellbeing of individuals.

By enhancing worthwhile causes in which we believe we enhance and strengthen the wellbeing of our circles of life and also ourselves.

The word ‘enhance’ is explained as follows in The Positive Dictionary:

Enhance:  Enhance a cause in which you believe.

*  To enhance is to improve and to strengthen something worthwhile.

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
