We can observe current trends and project future trends from them. What is important, however, is the frame of mind with which we anticipate the future.

Taking initiative in a project can lead to promotion to a new position in the future. Acting now makes it possible to foresee your own future.
The combination of a positive outlook and positive action is indeed a powerful force to see and utilise the opportunities in our changing world and to help create a positive future.

A positive outlook and positive action are also necessary to utilize opportunities in our personal lives. A positive outlook makes it possible to see opportunities for acts of kindness, for cultivating positive relationships, for learning, for enhancing our careers and for community service. With positive action on these opportunities we can enrich and enhance our lives and those of others.

Action is required for successful utilization of opportunities in our businesses and organizations. Acting on an opportunity entails the identification of trends, careful risk analyses, due diligence, strategic and operational planning, goal setting and defining performance measures. It requires the implementation of plans and dedicated hard work to attain the set goals to fully utilise the opportunity. It is all about a choice. We can decide whether we want to be negative in our outlook about the future or whether we want to be positive. The choice is obvious: Decide to cultivate a positive outlook to see the opportunities in the future.
The world around us and within us consists of an endless variety of variables which are all interrelated and interconnected. These variables are constantly changing and a change in one variable causes changes in other variables. The changes are either man-made or caused by events in nature. Tomorrow will be different from today and the world of the future will be different from the world of today. In fact, someone once said that the only constant in life is change.
