Local author Diana Baird will participate in the annual Arbor Day festivities at the Idaho State Capitol in Boise, Idaho Friday, April 30th.
Baird's new release, "The Old Man Who Talked to the Trees" will be presented to winning students in the annual Arbor Day poster contest.
"It is awesome to see how events are intertwining since my new children's book was released earlier this year. I love the idea of being a small part of Arbor day and supporting the planting of trees.
Being a part of Arbor Day takes my book full circle: from the removing of damaged and dead trees, those that won't transplant and die, to planting new seedlings in their place! What an exciting event to be a part of especially because the events will be held at the Capitol."
