As I sit here contemplating a far less harvesting of Christmas presents as to years past, I look ahead and try to see what others believe is the absolute answer to all our problems.
Well, I must admit that’s stretching it a tad bit; after all there is no answer to all problems.
Having said that, I can see where many believe our new president-elect will come in power and things such as unemployment, inadequate health care, energy shortfalls, political malfeasance and a host of other chronic plagues will be no more.
Ladies and gentlemen, let’s get real here. Many of the problems we face today we brought on ourselves due to apathy, overindulgence of credit, refusing to be more giving and instead thinking of only, “Me.”
We’ve also allowed people to take office knowing that they had less than sparkling pasts. What’s worse we let them stay in office and sometimes vote them in again. We’ve become obese and lazy; even worse we have stood by and watched our children become obese and lazy.
Now we have the audacity to expect someone else to fix all this for us.
Well, I have news for you, he can’t. And neither can anyone else. It has to start with each and every one of us.
Remember that famous line from the John Kennedy speech, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
Folks, that’s where it ends; it starts with putting this valuable quotation to your neighbors and friends.

You hit the nail right on the head: "It has to start with each and everyone of us." What the last election did was show the world that Americans can unite and work together for the nation...if they decide to do so. Great truthful article!
