Everybody wants to be rich. Everybody would like to have more money than they've got. Everybody has an idea they are sure will change the world. Everybody would love to be recognized for their accomplishments.
Unfortunately, for the vast majority of us, we go about it the wrong way, with some really backwards
social skills.
The great news is that simply by flipping a small switch in your head, about how you view the world, you can get those ideas out of your head and into the world. And you can do so in a way that will bring you all the abundance and recognition that you rightly deserve.
What's the magical switch?
Dale Carnegie famously said that everybody is always listening to their favorite radio station, WII-FM. What's In It For Me.
This means that no matter what kind of an idea or message you've got, unless you say in so that people can understand it, it will likely fall on deaf ears.
Let's say you've got a friend who's on the Paleo Diet. The one where they only eat meat or stay away from carbs. You want to go to a new restaurant in town. You can tell them about the delicious rice and beans, or the gorgeous waitresses, or the cheap prices until your blue in the face, but unless you address their Paleo frame, your message will likely fall on deaf ears.
A much better way would be to simply highlight all the Paleo friendly things on the menu FIRST, and then go on about the gorgeous waitresses or the beautiful view of the river or the half price margaritas.
Because you are leading the conversation with their needs first, you'll be much more likely to get your message understood, and acted upon.
This isn't always easy. This can be difficult to do when marketing to large audience. But it still can be done, with a little work. You've just got to do some research, find out about the demographics, and see what your target market is interested in.
Find out what they like, find out what they don't like. Find out how they interact with one another. Read where they post on message boards and forums.
Then take whatever message you'd like to give, and phrase it in their terms, not yours. That way, you'll be much more likely to be heard.
And if you're promoting anything, you'll get a lot more sales.
