We all like money, right? Here's how it appears, and here's how you can get some.

Once upon a time, there was no money. Now there's plenty. Trillions upon trillions. Where did it all come from? Well, money today comes from a printing press, and that's not such a good thing. But for the most part, money has followed a consistent path of creation.

Once you understand this, you'll know the secret of getting more money, printing press or not.

Back when they didn't have any money, people had to barter. They had to trade what they had for what they wanted. This presented a problem, called "coincidence of needs." Meaning if they had corn, and  they wanted potatoes, they had to find somebody that not only had potatoes, but also wanted corn.

Pretty soon, they realized the limitations. Luckily, stuff had both commodity use, and trade use. Corn has commodity use. Meaning you can eat it now, or store it and eat it later.

But some stuff, has both commodity value and trade value. This means you can use it on it's own, or keep it just so you can trade it for something else later.

In order for something to have commodity value and trade value, it usually satisfies a few criteria. Everybody wants some. It's easy to store. It's easy to carry. It lasts a long time. It's easy to break up into smaller parts.

Once a society collectively decides on what this is, then they've got money. All kinds of things have been used as money. Cows, cigarettes, salt, sea shells, silver, gold, etc.

How do you get some? All you've got to do is figure out what other people want. Then figure out a way to make some. Once you can do that, you're home free.

Today, this is easier than ever. Since the world is all connected online, finding out what other people want is as easy as doing some keyword research on Google. It's free, and keywords generally give you an idea of what kinds of things people are looking for.

You can either make stuff yourself (become an entrepreneur), help other people make stuff (become an employee) or sell stuff that other people have made (become a marketer or independent sales person).

The better you get at identifying unfulfilled needs on the marketplace, and filling with any products you are associated with, the more money you'll make.

I like your simple solutions. All you have to do is include the word, "money," in any offer and you have millions knocking at your door! This article will probably go down as the most read of all time.

As for entrepreneurship, I taught in a graduate business school. All of the students wanted money, but I noticed that very few had any inkling of the cost of running a business (or the skills required to be successful). Most business startups have costs that exceed revenues and fail after all the initial capital is depleted. A few are lucky and get the headlines. You never hear most business failures because the owners try to forget their mistakes and feel embarrassed that their "great idea" went nowhere.
