$7 Trillion in Losses…and Counting

In the past 10 days, stock values around the world have fallen in value by $7 trillion dollars.  If one-half the inhabitants of planet Earth owned an investment account, the losses would average $2,000 for each person.  Rarely, does such an event have but one cause. This time the singular cause also has a name: Donald Trump. This self-proclaimed “genius” has put his unsophisticated blubbery mind and body parts into the world arena of trade and brought about huge value losses in retirement accounts, in education savings accounts, and in the investment accounts of millions of typical citizens everywhere who have been saving for homes, and dreams, and retirement security. This president (who lost the election by nearly 3 million votes, but with the help of Russia nevertheless pulled off an illegal electoral win) actually thinks he is doing good by raising tariffs on China. Open your eyes, Donald, and survey the damage. You’re wrong, and you f*cked us—again.

A tariff is a tax on imported goods and services, so we, the residents of the world, are paying for every one of those tariff increases. Get it? Yes, China is being hurt also in lower trade numbers. But they are also raising tariffs on goods imported from us. So down goes our trade. That’s another loss that we are paying for. Get it?

The New York Times also let us in on another of your secrets: You paid no taxes in 8 of the 10 years between 1984 and 1995. Along with another 18 years after 1995 in which you also paid zero taxes, that comes to 26 years of no taxes for the Donald. Not bad for the business genius who filed for corporate bankruptcies 6 times, while conning your own father out of $413 million in loans that you never paid back. But you had Deutsche Bank connections, and high hopes of pasting the TRUMP name somewhere on a mighty hotel tower high above Red Square in Moscow. So, while the rest of us were actually working and paying our taxes, you were busy sucking up to Vladimir Putin at our expense. We get it.

This all makes me wonder if you claim your genius as an asset on your net worth statement to banks, but as a liability on your tax returns to the IRS? It seems that everything you touch turns to sh*t for us, and gold for you. King Midas would be envious—except, perhaps, for the smell. But your base is still intact—so they say. Can 10,000 fact-checked lies cover your ass again? We’ll see.

To: Hyman. I have been speaking and writing against virtually every thing Donald Trump has stood for in the past 35 years. I posted about 15 articles against this tyrant since he announced his candidacy in 2016. I will continue to rip away at this a-hole for as long as there is blood flowing in my veins. My efforts go far beyond what you read on Authors Den.

To: Ron. The recent stock value drop was $7 trillion, not $7 billion. So you missed the number by a magnitude of 1,000. This is not meager in my world of numbers, or dollars, or callousness. Almost certainly it will get much worse before it gets better.

Edward, why don't you tell us what you really think of Donald Trump?
If you want to punish him:
1)Push for his loss in the 2020 General election.
2)Promote changing the name of 5th Avenue in NYC to Barack Obama Blvd. His hair will stand straight up, as if he has been electrocuted.

I agree with all you said about Trump and more, but the $7 billion loss in the last few days, when compared with the past year, happened several times in the ending months of 2018, reaching a low for NASDAQ that was 1500 points below the current, meager downturn. I am still waiting for the major meltdown by these practices and others where the stock market will drop like it did in 2008-9 two over half of what it is today. I believe you predicted that before the end of Trump's administration.

I have found out that inflation is back. My partner tells me that grocery prices are ridiculous and climbing. She said she has never seen inflation like this in all the years she has shopped here. I blame that on two things: first on the tariffs that are probably causing a short term retaliation prices, particularly from Mexico. And, second on our propensity to buy exotics, cheap, from overseas where very destructive action is being taken destroying wilderness and fisheries by over exploitation and increasing costs of doing so. Rising expectations around the world for the same food that we eat has created pressure on the market causing these price increases along with global warming affecting the supply, especially from California.

Our bad habits are coming to roost on us and our economy will suffer as a result.

Ron
