I have a question for U.S. Christians of all denominations: Why do any of you support Donald Trump? My question arises mainly from the fact that you are so quiet, and few are outraged by this man. Many of your clerics suck up to him and support him for re-election. The last time I checked Christianity stood for honesty, kindness, caring, understanding, loving, and forgiving. Those are not characteristics of the Donald. No way. He is quite the opposite. He is a pathological liar having told more than 11,000 blatant lies (all fact checked) in the last 2 and one-half years. He is a racist who cannot separate himself from Nazi-like white groups who spout and practice racism in all its forms. It’s not just Blacks that he hates: Clearly, he also does not like Muslims or Hispanics. Can you name one Christian of note who would tear families apart, put them into unclean cages without the means to stay clean and healthy; or to find anything close to adequate sleeping arrangements? And all this in the name of enforcing an immigration policy that appeals only to his supporters. He denounces all who come to America in search of asylum. He calls their actions of seeking asylum illegal even though immigration lawyers say they are legal. His ICE squads are out and about as I write these words trying to find, capture, and deport anyone who cannot show immigration papers. He cozies up to Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin, says he loves them because they mean well and can be trusted. All our intelligence agencies disagree. He prefers the words of murdering tyrants who are hellbent on dividing us over his delusional and preposterous view that our most devoted and talented men and women who have dedicated their lives to preserving our way of life canot be trusted.

On many other issues he believes in whatever is convenient for him to keep and hold office, or to keep and enlarge his wealth. He asserts that climate change is unproved science even though virtually the entire scientific community from around the world declares it is a settled fact. He believes he is some sort of a “star” who is entitled to kiss women and grab their genitals. He does not believe that he should pay taxes, and by all indications, he has not done so for the past 26 years. He owns 500+ LLC corporations all based in Delaware where nobody can discover anything at all about them. He probably uses his accountant to “gerrymander” assets and liabilities within this maze of corporations to keep his taxes illegally at zero. He thinks he is smarter than the 400+ Ph.D. economists resident in the Federal Reserve with tens of thousands of peer-reviewed scientific papers on subjects that he has never read one word about. He gave huge tax breaks to all his wealthy contributors that blew a $1.5 trillion hole in our federal budget. He has overseen growing trade deficits while starting a global trade war on the pretext that raising tariffs will solve this issue, against the advice of economists and leaders from around the world. He has loaded up every important post in his administration with incompetents and ideologues whose primary mission is to dismantle or disarm the very agency they are entrusted to lead. He loves Gerrymandering and passing laws that make it harder and harder for immigrants and minorities to vote. He has stacked the Supreme Court with more ideologues who vote like rubber stamps in favor of predetermined outcomes, and to hell with facts.

Those are the main reasons why I am calling you out. You cannot be true to yourself, to your religion, and to Donald Trump all at the same time. Karma will not allow it, universal fairness will not, and surely an all-knowing, all-caring, and a loving Creator expects a lot more out of you. By now, you could be a cohesive force against Donald Trump numbering at least 50 million strong against him, his policies, and his continuation in office. Perhaps I don’t matter, but I am watching. The angels do matter, and they are watching. And surely you cannot believe that you are fooling your Creator.

Wake up, Christians, and show us all the true direction of your moral compass. Speak up, campaign, and vote for almost anyone other than Donald Trump.
