Friday, September 20, 2019 marked the beginning of a weeklong global climate strike. More than 4 million people, including huge numbers of students, from all around the world participated in this glorious moment in time. Now we all must make this movement a success. Too many elected leaders are too slow to act, and too concerned about themselves and their incomes to make the kind of commitment that is needed to meet this challenge. Apparently only we, all the inhabitants of planet Earth, can save this place we all call home from ourselves, from the polluters, and from those who profit from trying to kill us. The kids cannot do it all. They need our help.
For my part, I intend to search the Internet and identify the companies that are the big polluters, those who fund the big polluters, and those who profit from the big polluters. They are the Bad Guys. On the other side, I will try to find those companies and persons who are engaged in clean, renewable energy research, those who are actively supporting clean energy, and those who are leading the movement toward a cleaner planet. They are the Good Guys.
To kick start this effort, here is just the start of both lists. As consumers and/or investors, you and I and all readers can support the Good Guys and avoid the Bad Guys with our money. It’s that simple. Consumers and investors are much more powerful than are politicians. Thoughtful and creative readers who know how to bring the Big Guns to this task (such as YouTube, Facebook, Tweet, and others) are encouraged to do so.

Ron: Amazon is not a monopoly. It has a huge number of competitors in the retail business. Competition is the essencial feature of free markets. And Amazon is showing all of them how to really compete in a highly competitive market. But they also support climate change efforts, the subject of this article.
