According to the Washington Post, as of August 12, 2019, Donald Trump has told the world 12,019 lies and/or misleading statements since becoming President. That is neither a misstatement nor a joke. The numbers have been verified by PolitiFact, Wikipedia, Toronto Star, and by NPR. 

Psychologists call someone with such a proclivity to lie a pathological liar. Reasonable human beings know such a person as someone more to be pitied than censured, but nevertheless, someone we would never trust with our lives, our money, or even with the keys to the junk boxes stored somewhere in our attics. Yet, whether by hook or by crook, “we “ (not me and not a majority of voters) have entrusted him with the nuclear codes, thus giving him access to about 4,500 nuclear weapons with enough fire power to reduce the world to rubble. 

Holy shit balls! I used to calibrate the guidance systems that assured those weapons would arrive right on target. That should frighten everyone even more. Not because my head was polluted with misinformation, but because it wasn’t. I knew exactly what I was doing.

Even GW Bush was smart enough to once observe, “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice…and I ain’t gonna let you do that again!”   Forget about politics and mental instability. Trump is now out and about stirring up meddlers from around the world to inject their poisonous intentions into our election system so that we must extend his lease on the nuclear codes for another 4 years. Before going further, let’s correct GW Bush’s recollection. The expression he fumbled with was “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me!” 

A nuclear warhead does not carry shame. It carries destruction—massive destruction—measured in megatons of TNT. A 10-megaton bomb could level Moscow or New York City in seconds. Ask Donald Trump what that means, and you are likely to get 10, 20, or 500 different answers. 

There are three tiny impediments in the path that could snatch the nuclear codes from Trump: One is the impeachment procedures; the other is the primary elections; and the third is the general elections.

A minority of Americans elected him in 2016. More likely than not, his name will be on the ballot again  in November 2020.  Will we give him the nuclear codes again, or will we say “we ain’t gonna let him do that again?” 

Even Heaven would have difficulty in processing 7.5 billion earthlings all arriving at the Pearly Gates at the same time.
