Elections 2020: A Clean Sweep?

According to the Princeton Consortium, if the elections were held today, the Democrats would win the House, the Senate, and the White House. That’s a trifecta. Of course there are still 96 days until the elections. Is that enough time for the Trump administration to launch the filthiest campaign in human history, bring the Russians into the fray, and cheat his way to a narrow win? There is always the chance that our “stable genius,” who is so bright he can identify a picture of an elephant almost every time he sees one, will declare a national emergency and delay the elections until his coffers, his henchmen, and Vlad the Bad are able to mass hypnotize some voters, generate millions of robo-calls of misinformation to others, and play musical chairs with the polling places and their hours of operation in the inner cities to hold off the avalanche that is coming to bury him. That’s a tall order, even for a megalo-nut case to pull off.

The BS and the bias stop at Dr. Sam Wang’s doorstep, the head of the Princeton Consortium. He uses high-level mathematics to track some 200 polls, analyze, and weigh, and evaluate them. His calculations show the Democrats gaining seats in both houses, with Biden winning the electoral vote 355 to 183. The Washington Post/ABC News polls show Biden winning the popular vote by 15 points, or by as much as 20 million votes. Trump will have his work cut out for him to cheat his way through those numbers.

On a parallel road of dishonesty, did you know that the Donald has added $2.7 billion dollars to the latest coronavirus bill to build a new FBI building across the street from his hotel in Washington DC? He wants to pay us $1,200 dollars each (with our own money), while betting that we won’t mind his adding several billions (more of our money) to glamor up property near his. As the late Sen. Dirksen use to say, “A billion here and a billion there, and pretty soon we’re talking real money!”

This is the humorous part--not hilarious, but chuckable.  Perhaps upchuckable.

I generally stay away from predicting how people will vote, and how thugs will pull out all the stops in trying to overcome our actual vote. But I will make these predictions for 2020: About a week or so before the elections, the Donald will: 1) announce a perfect (lie) that we have a vaccination for the Covid-19 virus that will instantly wipe it from the face of the earth; 2) promise to raise the minimum wage to at least $125 per hour; 3) invite everyone to a free round of golf and a weekend at a Trump resort of their choice (just pay a modest $50,000 clean-up fee); 4) award Ivanka the Presidential Medal of Freedom; 5) announce he has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize as well as the Nobel Prize in Physics, Mathematics, and Literature; 6) pardon all those waiting in line at the Pearly Gates of all their sins; and 7) declare on a stack of Bibles that he has never told one lie in his entire life. Of course, not. But 20,000 lies are a different matter altogether.

After that last election where everyone thought Hillary had it in the bag, I no longer trust polls. I await the election results. If the clown wins, we're all in for trouble and better get up and do something about it. Voting won't prove to have been enough.

Fact-checking your number was a pleasure: A+. On the more egregious aspects of your take, we can only hope that voting goes as it should and that Trump's determined stance that all will be rigged is debunked by the write-in vote-getting in the count before he tries to take down Biden in the debates. As of this morning, Trump's campaign is vying for earlier debates (1st one late September) should take place, as by the time of the first debate, 16 states will have mailed in their vote. Should be interesting as we get closer, eh?

Your last paragraph gets off into a flight of fantasy that even Trump would not get into, on second thought, maybe he would. Your numbers appear to be quite solid. It will be nice to see that tower of Mammon with a few manipulating our government with their money finally defeated by their own lies and avarice.

With all of the people voting all of the time, those manipulators will not have a chance of getting back in and fooling people as one after another conspiracies and other stupid theories will be debunked or even prevented from being spread.

Love it. Only hope your prediction and your numbers are right. Can't wait to get back on track, nor can the rest of the country. Not soon enough.
