A New Team, a New Beginning

Like the Phoenix rising up from the ashes of death, Joseph R. Biden is the people’s choice to ascend to the Presidency of the United States. It isn’t yet official, but as each scanned ballot registers a new high, it only confirms the hopes and dreams of freedom-lovers everywhere: The reign of a political aberration is over, and sanity is emerging as a new day looms over the land.
A moment of quiet contemplation is fitting to note that Kamala Harris, a youthful 55-year old woman with unlimited potential, and an 80 year old lady-warrior, Nancy Pelosi, with a spotless record of achievement, will take their places in the direct line of succession as the Vice President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. It is a moment to savor. In the words of Martin Luther King, Jr.: “The arc of history bends toward justice.” And so it does.
As the vote count continues, it is interesting to note that Georgia moved into the “blue” (democratic) column for the first time since Bill Clinton won the Presidency in 1992. But Pennsylvania dominated the night. Coming from a distant deficit of 700,000 votes, a blue wave of mail-in ballots began to show its strength. A steady flow of votes emerged and continued throughout the night. From Philadelphia to Erie, the Biden/Harris ticket closed the gap more and more with each update. Now they are adding to their lead.
Meanwhile, the man with no class continues to blither and blather his ignorance, marked by moments of utter nonsense. He has or is making some 6 appeals to various courts on frivolous grounds and/or ridiculous grounds. Who knows what he may be up to? Perhaps he needs time to burn his last 30 years of income tax returns; or erase the record of his dealings with Vladimir Putin; or hide his love letters with Kim Jong Un.
As of this writing, the new Senate composition appears that it will consist of 48 Dems and 48 Repubs. In addition two Democratic Senate candidates will face a runoff in Jan. 2021. With Kamala Harris there to break tie votes, it looks like headwinds are forming, but nothing too tough for a strong new team of brave-hearts in Washington, DC. Hallelujah!!
I will second your hallelujah that these two are able to carry out their responsibilities without gun toting militias threatening their very lives.
