Legacy is too elegant a word to be used to describe the devastation being left in the wake of the Trump administration. His dung heap of historical non-achievements mounts higher with each passing day. In his waning days he is firing the last of those who demonstrated any high-level expertise at all in favor of those who will take on positions for 90 days to do...what? It would appear that he is preparing to stay on as a dictator and try to remain in power until such time as swarms of Americans charge onto the grounds of the White House and bodily remove him from office. In such an event it is hard to imagine anyone who would come to his aid. There is much more to this dying tale.

• Losing the election by 5.2 million votes, and the electoral college by 72 electors apparently was beyond his math skills. His scheme to wreck the US Postal Service apparently backfired, and too many mail-in ballots got through despite his ineptitude. Now he wants to reverse the election because the postal service did their job. But why would he want to spend $50 or $100 million of others’ money to contest those numbers in another losing cause? Perhaps he knows he will never again be able to raise dollars in those amounts to run for president again. Maybe he just wants to abscond with a truckload of money from which to pay his legal bills soon to come his way from the myriad charges awaiting him in the state of New York.

• By January 20, 2021 the death count from the pandemic he partly mismanaged and partly failed to manage at all will surpass 300,000. Experts say 150,000 of that number would have lived if he had acted sooner and followed the advice of a large pool of credentialed epidemiologists.

• At least one-half of our workforce, or 73 million residents are still in dire financial need. He doesn’t seem to care, and he has not pushed for a second round of financial assistance. But those at the top have recovered all their $11 trillion in stock value losses, and even added another $1 trillion to their holdings.

• His first order of business back in 2016 was to gin up a bill that included the elimination of the inheritance tax. Now his poor offspring are assured of at least a billion dollar inheritance to squander the day Donald takes a long walk on a short pier.

• During his tenure he also inherited a booming economy with 4.1 percent unemployment. Now he is leaving Biden/Harris a huge mess with a negative economic growth from his starting point, 12.4 million unemployed, savings accounts depleted, while we are all staring at 150,000 new virus infections every day.

That’s enough for now. This is making me sick.
