An Impossibly Plausible Conspiracy Theory

Sometimes “flop sweat” tells us more than just somebody’s fear of failure. When it flows so profusely down the speaker’s head and face that it dissolves the mascara coloring in his hair and causes two visible streams of black sweat on both sides of his face—beware of what it portends. It could be a complex network involving billionaire George Soros, Venezulean Hugo Chavez (dead), Q-anon, to China, and to an obscure German company—under FBI investigation--doing the actual American vote counting. If he also stutters and stammers while mopping up the dual streams, you are likely also to be scratching your head from a tale about the US president who consistently pushes your limits of believability into the twilight zone.

Phase I. Enter Donald Trump, Rudy Guiliani, and a tale that only a sick mind could concoct. Stir up a lot of commotion among the Trump base by filing a lot of law suits in many different states asking that many different courts throw out all Biden votes and declare Trump the winner. Don’t expect courts to honor your demands. As long as the two concocters get their base into a fighting mode (via Tweets and news coverage), consider this phase of the conspiracy as “mission accomplished.”

Phase II. Target major black voting districts—in Milwaukee, Detroit, Pittsburg, Philadelphia, and Atlanta—and demand recounts from the state secretaries. Contact dissenting Republican voting overseers and invite them to the White for a little one-on-one persuasion session. Consider any state that agrees to recount their votes as a partial success. Drawing out the timeline while leaving Team Biden in the dark about important troop withdrawals, Covid-19 issues, and economic issues unprepared. Drawing out the timeline equals “mission accomplished.”

Phase III. This phase is pure speculation from someone whose mind does not welcome conspiracy theories, especially those about how to sow seeds of doubt with increasing intensity following a legitimate election. But it follows in the same vein as the outrageous goings on in the first two phases. It involves continuing to whip up a frenzy among the brethren, aka Trump followers. Incite and report breakouts of sporadic fighting between Trump and Biden supporters. Encourage “believers” to go rogue and accelerate the acts of violence. Trump would then declare that a “state of emergency exists,” that the results of the 2020 election are suspended indefinitely, that martial law exists, and that he is and will remain the president indefinitely. Systematically, he would call up the national guard, take control of all news sources, the internet, inter-state and between country travel, invoke curfews, restrict sales of guns, medicines, and anything else that would let him take and keep control over you and me. A civil war would likely ensue.  Trump would flee the country to North Korea or Russia.

Alternate Phase III. Trump is broke, he owes $400 million, and this is his last chance to bilk hundreds of millions of more dollars from his followers. Just make them really angry at democrats, cry a few “crocodile” tears while asking them for their last dime, and then ride off into the sunset with his bounty while quietly calling them all “suckers.”
