I don’t keep data on matters that I can find in more reliable sources than in my memory banks. I let my internal trip odometer and my intuition compass guide me to the data I need. That said, I recently put together a spreadsheet to see who has the advantage in the electoral system, and by how much. I could not find the spreadsheet, but my memory tells me that Team Trump had a 29 vote advantage from the Gerrymandering alone. That means in a fair vote count (adjusted for Gerrymandering), Trump won only 203 electoral votes, Biden won 335 votes. Now, doesn’t that make a lot more sense given that Biden won the national vote by more than 7 million votes?

The National Vote. There is something nice and clean about counting votes without having to put them through a disreputable racist contraption such as the Electoral System. A good project for a few sharp college students would be to ask them to hunt down the originalists who insisted on adopting the electoral system, find out who they were, and why they were such traitors to their times and to ours. The scales of justice demand it.
     Team Trump knew in advance from the polls which states would be close—before the voting started—and where he had the best chance of winning by targeting TV time with deceptive ads, and other gamesmanship. He knew exactly where to do a lot of targeted cheating such as jamming up the postal service, moving voting locations, and making voting difficult for all the poor minorities. Afterward, if things did not pan out for him, he also knew exactly where he could accuse Team Biden of cheating: Just go to the places where he tried to cheat and failed. It backfired. Biden voters were smart and honest. Still, we need to dump the electoral system in the nearest dumpster, and go with the national vote—just like all the civilized nations around the world. “Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.” (Walter Scott).

The Virus/Economic Mess. While it is true that the weak economy and the Covid-19 virus are related in terms of pain and suffering, they are also huge problems separately. But for the first time, I am optimistic about both. For starters, the experts are finally in charge of analyzing, synthesizing, and solving them. “Garbage in, garbage out” was never true r than when applied to the god-awful management of both the virus and the economy in 2020. We need to follow the experts' advice and give them until summer or early fall before offering them the wisdom from the trenches.

What About the Impeachment? This battle is half over. Trump is out of office. What a relief! If Congress censures him and forbids him from ever holding public office again, that is OK with me. His name is forever at the bottom of the swamp list of dunces, dopes, and dimwits who ever occupied the Oval Office. Begone! And stay gone.

What’s Ahead? We still have a heavy price to pay before life recovers to a new quiescent state. Even those who hate Joe Biden will find that their lives will improve dramatically under his leadership. We are on the bottom. There is nowhere to go but up. He has a list of outstanding candidates for nearly every to position in government. Go with Joe. He is a good, decent, man with a plan and a great team to get it done.
     Personally, I have targeted 50 large and influential persons and organizations for my new truncated message: With two small changes and one major change, we can change the prosperity future of America—and perhaps the world—for the better.
