In a few weeks you we will be taking up roles meant for the wise, the learned, and for those with the soul of humanity seared into their beings. It is a daunting challenge to believe anyone is up to the task of accepting a few truisms following the votes cast recently in the US and around the world. Like it or not, we are now all lemmings without a new set of guiding stars to help us through the darkness. That is reason enough for reading words from times past, from the wisdom of the ages, and for those of us who need to crawl out of that damned rabbit hole that we got shoved into.
Let’s start with a few gems:
• The wealthiest person is not the one with the most, but the one who needs the least.
• The two most important days of your life are: the day you were born, and the day you find out why.
• Never trust anyone who asks for your loyalty without obtaining a written contract for a penny doubled in value everyday for 40 days.
