Showing others the love of God

This is how we grow in the Spirit.

If you fall get up and try again and again until you have overcome the trials and tribulations and have reached the Lord’s objective so he can give you a greater one. God humbles me through Vickie all the time. I would rather be humbled through someone I love than someone I could barely tolerate.

This helps keep us connected in the body of Christ. Remember that Satan is burying that sin so deep within you it only comes out in anger. Don’t let him take that stronghold in your life. Jesus Christ has given you power over Satan through his blood to overcome this.

The servant can be no greater than the master! We must be Christ like and Christ like means just that, Christ like. If a child molester came to Jesus and asked forgiveness for his or her sins and was sincere in seeking forgiveness, what would Christ say to them? No! You don’t count! I will forgive everybody else’s sin but not yours! I don’t think so. Neither do you. He would forgive them just like he has forgiven you for all the evil sin you have done in your life.

Sometimes it is not easy to be Christ like. Believe me I know. If that happened to one of my children I would be angry and upset but I would forgive the person. I cannot let any person hold me hostage in hate and resentment and bitterness for the rest of my life. The kingdom of God is not worth giving up because I could not forgive someone.

Scars can be disfiguring and ugly but when you touch them they bear no pain. Why? Because they are scars, a reminder of what happened in the past. It has no bearing on the present or the future. We are new creatures in Christ every day and past events in our lives are just old scars that bear no pain. Now the twenty dollar question, how did Tim get over his hatred towards child molesters considering he has all those children?

There was a man and the Lord had blessed him with a beautiful wife and a son shortly after they were married. The man knew he was blessed and in his convictions and worked harder to see that they were provided for. Then the day came when the man was blessed with a daughter. He named her Jennifer. The man realized he was truly blessed again and was happy. He had a son a daughter and a beautiful wife. His family was poor but he was enriched in blessings and knew that the Lord would provide.

Then darkness rolled in like thunder and six months after Jennifer was born she died of crib death. He lost his job and had to take a job earning a lot less money. He was angry and hurt, he cried out and abandoned his faith in misery. God then blessed him with three more sons and every time another son was born the man and his wife mourned quietly for the lost daughter. How come God would not fill their empty void with a daughter?

His wife prayed in earnest for a daughter and was answered one May morning when his wife bore a daughter once again. His wife was so happy she finally had a daughter to carry on her legacy and to teach her how to be a girl and later a woman. The man realized for whatever reason he was blessed again. His job got better with more pay, he lived in a nice home with a beautiful wife, four sons and a daughter.

Satan came to the man as he was standing tall on the mountain looking down on the world. Satan said to the man. “You have everything don’t you, what did God give you other than death and a broken heart with Jennifer.”

The man understanding his ploy said “You are a liar and I will not believe a word you say.” Then Satan responded. “I watch you kill yourself for your meager wages and suffer through the death of your child, I know you cursed God when Jennifer died.” “Now you have another daughter and God gets all the credit?” “The way I see it is you’re the one that deserves all the credit, not God.” The man responded in anger, “Be gone Satan I have nothing more to say to you!” Satan left the mans presence but understood the seed he had planted.

The man’s daughter grew to be five years of age and was the spitting image of his beautiful wife. The mans beautiful wife had since had another son and the man climbed that mountain top again to look down on the world and rejoice in his most recent blessing of another son.

Satan came back to the man on the mountain top and said, “Are you still thanking God for all your hard work and little money?” “You have everything don’t you, or do you?” “A beautiful wife, five sons and a daughter.” “But why are you still not satisfied?” “I’ll tell you why, you may have a beautiful wife but you don’t have the most beautiful woman in your home.” “Look at your pathetic self, overweight and not a single woman would give you the time of the day.” “That’s why your not happy fat boy!” “I don’t hear any rejoicing fatso.” Satan left the mans presence once again.

The man stood there on the mountain top and would not rejoice over the birth of his new son and count his blessings and be thankful unto the Lord. He slowly descended back down the mountain dismayed at what Satan had told him and could not deny some of the truths he had mentioned. After all he was overweight and the opposite sex other than his beautiful wife would not give him the time of the day.

The man thought, if Satan was right about some of these issues then he must be right about all of these issues. By the time the man had reached the bottom of the mountain he had decided to change his life to better himself, after all he deserved it more than anybody.

The man took up an intimate relationship with a woman coworker behind the back of his beautiful wife and family. The man broke his vows with his beautiful wife without her even knowing and without thought broke the covenant of his marriage to God the Almighty. The relationship he had on the side was O.K. to him because he felt he deserved it but it still did not fill that empty void in his heart that Satan had pointed out.

The man thought about the other things Satan had said to him about not having the most beautiful woman in his home. The man refused out of fear of God’s wrath to act upon the possible notion. Satan continued to torment the man with evil thoughts about his beautiful daughter. The man could not hide from the torment and one day when Satan presented the opportunity the man fell victim to the thoughts Satan had planted in his mind.

The man took his daughter when his beautiful wife was away and had sex with her. The five year old was willing and innocent and trusted her father whole hearted. She did not understand why her father was doing these things to her but she believed it was right because he was her father and her father loved and protected her and always provided for her. The little girl was happy because she made daddy happy.

The voice of God spoke into the mans heart and warned him of his impending wrath upon his life and the consequence for such actions. “The wages of sin is death.” The man hid in fear of God and stopped having sex with his daughter. The man was troubled even more now because he was even more unhappy than before and now he bore the burden of this heinous sin locked deep inside a secret between himself and his daughter and God the Almighty.

The man turned away from God in shame even though God continued to call him back to his flock with the sound of forgiveness ringing in his voice. Satan stood in the man’s presence again and reaffirmed his greatest fears. “Aw you done did it now!” “Let’s see we have incest, adultery, fornication and the big one, child molestation!” “There is no way you can be forgiven, ever!” “If you even try to pray for forgiveness, I’ll bet God rolls up his sleeve and picks the most prickly lightening bolt and sends it down on you to end your feeble existence.” “The only thing you need to do is hide from God and listen to me.”

The man was stifled in the words of Satan and did just what he told him to do. The man lived in constant fear and kept his secrets hid without a single confession. Eleven years later the man stood in horror as his daughter confessed to her mother what her father had done to her years before.

The man fell to his knees and wept and did not deny the truth. His wife kicked him out of the house and filed for divorce. In anger one of his sons vowed to kill him for vengeance for his sister. The man moved a hundred miles away from his family and hid from the world, his wife and all his kids. God came to his angry son and reminded his son that vengeance was his and his alone.

The son calmed himself and because God had told him to do so he forgave his father for his transgressions against his sister and mother. The man continued to hide from God even after his daughter and family had forgiven him. The man still believed that God would not forgive him for his sin.

The man managed to restore his relationship with his grown children but still refused to believe that God would forgive him. God tried to reach the man through his children so he would not continue to live his life in torment and fear. Every time God spoke to the man he refused to listen.

One day the man heard the voice of God loud and clear through a doctor that was standing in front of him. The doctor told the man that he had a very rapid form of cancer and it was terminal. The doctor gave the man less than two years to live with treatment. The man surrounded himself with his kids and told them the news. He could not believe the tears of grief that his children displayed upon hearing the news.

The children moved around him and became his support system all the while telling their father about the forgiveness that God offered through his son Jesus Christ. The days slipped  passed quickly and one night the man made dinner for all his children and invited them over to enjoy it with him. They all came and dined with their father who prepared the meal by himself and would not let one of his grown children to help him with the clean up in the kitchen. The man stood in awe of the sight of all his kids.

The man knew he had mistreated all of them and had betrayed them mentally, physically and sexually. In light of these truths he had been forgiven and placed back in his rightful position at the head of the table as their father. The man took a few steps closer to forgiveness.

A couple of days later the man was being wheeled into the hospital on a stretcher with his oldest son following. Soon another son arrived at the hospital and realized that their father could not speak but was coherent enough to understand what was being said to him.

His son held his fathers hand while his older brother stroked their fathers hair and wept. While he held his fathers hand he reached down and said, “Dad if you understand me squeeze my hand.” The man responded with a tight squeeze. The son then said, “Dad we are going to pray and I need you to pray with us for your forgiveness, O.K.” The son felt another tight squeeze and led the benediction in the emergency room.

When the son looked at the closed eyes of his father he could see tears streaming down the cheeks of his father. The emergency room and all the sounds seem to drown out around him as he was lying on the stretcher with his two sons at his side holding onto him dearly, refusing to let go. The man was slipping away and held steadfast to the words of the benediction with everything he had left.

The man slowly opened his eyes once again and looked up to a darkened cloud filled sky. He glanced to his left and felt the sting of the spike that was driven through his hand onto the wooden cross. As the Roman solider smashed and broke his legs with a large hammer he screamed in pain and agony. He was no longer in the emergency room.

He looked to his right and his gaze fell upon a man that was also nailed to a wooden cross next to him. The man next to him had a crown of thorns on his head and his brow and face were covered in blood. The man on the cross next to him with the crown of thorns looked back at him with pleading eyes and forgiveness. The man realized who he was and where he was and while the man next to him with the crown of thorns was still looking at him, he uttered out with everything he had left to him, “Jesus will you remember me in your kingdom?” The king of kings responded without hesitation. “Before this day is over you will be with me in paradise.”

The man closed his eyes and wept in joy. As he was taking his last few breaths he could see his kids all around him, even his beautiful wife. The man saw all the hate and anger and fear and hurt he caused to other people disappear like a vapor in the wind. He was finally separated from all the sinful destruction he had caused and was now basking in forgiveness.

The light was bright and the warmth of the light felt good on his eyelids. Once again he reached the mountain top to give thanks to God the creator of all things and for the first time the void he had felt in his heart for so long was now filled. The church bells were ringing out all around him to welcome him. As he looked down the mountain top he could see the streets of gold cascading off into the distance.

The breath of freedom felt better than anything he had ever felt before and he realized his hand was still clinched tightly to the benediction him and his son had said while he was in the emergency room. The man looked down at his hand and found another hand holding his hand and he noticed the scar on his hand from the Roman nail. The man looked up and into the eyes of who was holding tightly onto his hand.

Light was coming out of the King’s eyes and shining everywhere to the point it was almost blinding. Then a voice rang out, that was lifted high above everything with the sound of the church bells chiming in the back round, “Well done my son.” They descended down the mountain together towards the streets of gold.

This is a true story. The man in the story is my father. The son in the hospital who said the benediction with him is me. This is how I came to forgive child molesters.

Consider the road I have traveled and you will find the truth in your heart. I held my fathers hand when he drew his last breath and closed his eyes when they pronounced his worldly death. My mother, my brothers and sister were with me as well. Don’t let Satan fool you into believing that child molesters cannot be forgiven, the way he fooled my father into believing that he could not be forgiven.

Because Satan has put that stronghold into your heart that only tells me that without doubt God wants you to reach child molesters more than anybody else. Lead them to forgiveness when they seek it. It’s in their eyes, all the sorrow they hide behind. Be the light in the tunnel that leads them out of darkness and your rewards will be waiting for you in the kingdom of God.

May God bless you
