Do not take the Chance of Losing Your Kitty Cat
Microchips are your best bet if you want to find your wandering kitty back. Your vet implants the chip between the cat's shoulder blades, and you register the number with a national registry, the Microchip Company or local animal control. A collar and id tag, or license if it is required in your area, means anyone who finds your cat will know how to locate you.
The Healthy Cat’s Diet
- Cat Food - Cats do nicely on a diet of a high quality dry, complete cat food. Cats need the correct balance of nutrients to stay health, which you can find in most cat foods. You should also treat your cats to a little canned food in addition to the dry food. Remember, if the cat food is left out, it dries up and your cat will not eat it, so small amounts are your best bet – put it in a separate dish too.
- Water - Cats need fresh water. Make sure you change the water daily!
- Veggies (Yum Yum) - Cats love to nibble on fresh greens. If they are indoors-only cats, that means your houseplants! Provide your cat with some live Pet Grass. You can find this at any pet store.
- Litter Box - One important thing you can do to keep your cat happy is to take extra care with his litter box. Cats need a routine, and sometimes react to any changes by refusing to use their box. Place the litter box where your cat is not likely to be disturbed while using it. Scoop every day. A dirty box is the number one cause of cats refusing to use the litter box. Remember, do not put the litter box near their food because cats are very clean and do not want to go to the bathroom where they eat. Keep the two far apart. People like to be clean and so do cats. If your cat is not using his box, there a reason why, so think of this lesson in cat hygiene and you will probably be able to figure it out.
Love your cat just as your cat loves you. Put yourself in the cat’s body for a moment and think if I were a cat, would I want my owner to treat or feed me this way and if you keep that in mind and act on it then you will be the best cat owner around.
