Politically Correct

Geez, you cant say anything any more! Yes, being raised in the fifties, we had not this stern headmaster of "Politically correct" overhanging and shadowing our every word. I mean, a guy like me just cant hardly speak without pissing off someone! Or angering someone if you prefer!

Now some might think that a good thing, that my every word has a potential bridle hovering over it held by the political correct god at large. Yet I announce to all, that this new fangled phenomena indeed, shall not restrain my words a many. I do however, get into much more trouble now it seems.

I mean you cant even use the term fat anymore! And Im glad by the way that these full figured folk now have to purchase two airplane seats, because prior they were riding free in mine!

Now with this innocent example leading the menu for supper, I shall now continue. The old are now referred to as seventy-five years young! And if you say old, they shall correct you! But if your privy to their discussions concerning all there aches, pains, surgeries and what not, sounds like old to me!

Queer can no longer to be used to address the odd duck among us, for it has taken on a new meaning completely.

Minorities have been switching names yearly, leaving a simple mope like me baffled beyond belief! Or perhaps the committee made those calls, I know not, I just know that yesterdays terms aren't used now today! And in fact if its considered ok to change names yearly, do you think someone with influence with the committee could propose a possible change and alternative name for "White Anglo Saxons"? For I remain neither white nor Saxon, and I never did know what a damn Anglo even was!

Midgets are now "little people" instead of midgets and dwarfs, and fat folk full figured, while skinny became thin. Miss now is Mizz, but Mr remains the same. If you dare introduce your wife as Mrs whatever, you're damned, but yet husband remains a term not yet changed. Ignored and neglected, now termed latch lock, while a spanking remains child abuse! But its still ok to drag you're little ankle muncher about on a dog leash like my parents did, and few seem to care, except, perhaps the harnessed little mope?

A hole is no longer a duggin place in the ground, and chicks now remain merely chickens, rather than girls once renowned. Hobos are now homeless or transients at best, while the politician remains unchanged by time passed. What we used to refer to as brats, are now children with issues, and yes, adults alike, with varied and numerous tags with which to choose from, each dismissing personal responsibility that the brat had to claim.

Christians now known as political blocks, riding the fringe crest of right, and peace-nics are communists, this hasn't changed with time!

I agree that some terms not dressed in dignity extended to all, should perhaps be revisited, or left behind in the race forward, yet my main concern lies still with this mysterious committee selection, just who are these folks? Yes, they! I have been hearing about them and they, my entire life! Cannot any tell me who they are, I beg?

Yes, looting now termed expression, to express glee anger, bored or free! Rude behavior and curt now accepted and covered in grace, being seen and viewed only, as the language depicting the busy in our midst, imposed upon the rest of us.

Yes, fist-fights are outlawed but guns are ok, and the flag once saluted in childhood now is merely tucked away. The Lords prayer deemed antiquated and of no real value afterall, and our passion for morals and excellence,as well deemed corny and old.

Perhaps I was born out of time, everything changing so fast, I should have lived in the 1800s I guess, where not all turned so fast.

It still irks me no end, in closing I'll confess, that none know who these are, this committee of politically correct, or could it be, that "they" are we?
