What audacity the United States embody in demanding/expecting the Taliban to protect America's interest in Afghanistan
when America assumed no responsibility for protecting
4,000 African Americans who were lynched in America.
America wants the Taliban to protect Americans in Afghanistan. Yet, America refused to prevent the lynching of 4,000 African Americans in the South.
THE UNITED STATES IS DEMANDING THAT THE TALIBAN PREVENT THE KILLING OF AMERICANS IN AFGHANISTAN EVEN THOUGH SHE- AMERICA - DID NOT ACT TO PREVENT, ACCORDING TO THE 2015 REPORT ISSUED BY THE EQUAL JUSTICE INITIATIVE WHICH FOUND THAT NEARLY 4,000 BLACK MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN WERE LYNCHED IN 12 SOUTHERN STATES BETWEEN 1877 AND 1950.. WHAT AUDACITY!
During the period of the lynching the remainder of States viz the Federal Government refused to oppose the South. The Southerner way of life prevailed. Even when I enlisted in the Army in 1948 I was placed .in a segregated Army. Although a few months after I enlisted in the Army President Harry S.Truman issued an Executive Order that integrated the military I did not serve in and integrated unit of the Army until after the Korean War was declared in 1950.
Today, there are three political groups in Afghanistan, namely, the Taliban, ISIS and al-Qaeda. They are enemies of each other, likely greater enemies of each other than were the South and the remaining States viz Federal Government of the United States during the lynching period. As a matter of fact, many non-Southerner States supported the Southern States in their misbehavior. Also lynching occurred at that time in 8 States outside of the South.
The United States did not hold herself responsible for preventing lynching in the South, yet today she insists on holding the Taliban responsible for protecting and preventing a suicide bomber at the airport in Kabul from killing 13 American Soldiers on August 26, 2021.
America, it is time for you to look at yourself in the present time mirror which captures your profile and quit playing the phony game of your eceptionalism, also called called white supremacy, as featured daily on Fox News, some other medias and what is currently referred to as the BIG LIE, especially as it relates to hegemony and the "cruel race practices," also called "critical race theory."
America, it is time to cease and desist expecting the Taliban, one of three political groups in Afghanistan, to protect your interest in Afghanistan and remember how you failed and continue to fail to prevent the interest of African Americans and so-called people of color in America..

P.S. At this particular time nearing the end of August 2021, President Joe Biden is doing the right thing in ending the war in Afghanistan. He is during it the right way, given the hand he has been dealt.

But I just answered a scathing conservative article in the stories section by a misguided northerner who thinks that he still has to keep the black people from the South out of his little corner of Utopia. He blames Biden and the liberals for anything that went wrong or going wrong. But a poll of Americans like you and I shows that we are overwhelmingly in favor of leaving.
This author blasted the erasing of history (or at least the way he thought his history should be--rosy and mythical). But he is really just railing against all of the history that is being revealed like the 4000 lynchings that were treated like towns celebrations instead of what they were, blatant defiling of truth and justice, and then, sweeping it under the rug. There are many more examples, most recently, the revealing of how the black Wall Street of Tulsa, was practically erased from history--now revealed in two documentaries.
Every atrocity revealed, adds to our rich history, doesn't defile it.
