As long as there are oppressed people, the price of peace is the cost of war.

No individual with even a bit of human compassion deliberately chooses war as a means to a justified end to tyranny, but sometimes it is the only avenue open to eradicate living life under constant cruelty. Why is it those organizations responsible for humanitarian aid have been in Iraq for years tending to the desperately poor of that country when their leader is listed in Forbes 500 as one of the ten richest men in the world and has twelve palaces fit for a king? Why is it only a chosen few, (who proclaim total allegiance to him) share the wealth of a country with the second biggest oil reserve in the world? Why can’t these (free) people of this rich country have access to news from around the world? Why must they choose their words carefully before opening their mouths? Why must they live in constant fear of their exalted leader’s private army of thugs? The world promised after the defeat of Hitler that someone of his ilk must never again be allowed to prevail. Right now, Sadam is working on a smaller scale, but he is of that ilk, a tyrant who thrives on power and evil acts against helpless people.

The Americans are the superpower. It rests on their shoulders to lead the way when innocent people are being persecuted at the hands of tyrants, and it must seek out terrorism where it is and destroy it. Terrorists rule with vicious acts of cruelty in Sadam’s name. It’s time to set the oppressed free, so they can live their lives free from fear.

We cannot bury our heads in the sand and pretend these things aren’t happening. We don’t ignore acts of murder and rape on our own soil by criminals in the name of ‘peace’ because our government structure provides protection and justice in such instances. Why then should we ignore these acts on someone else’s soil on innocent people, and propagated by a government in the name of ‘peace’? These victims are unable to defend themselves. Are the protestors condoning terrorism in the name of peace? Or, are the armed forces of the United States, along with her allies, strengthening peace by eradicating the evil that festers in Iraq? Peace is not free. Throughout our history, our young people have fought for peace and freedom. Without their sacrifices, we could be a part of Nazi Germany…right now, instead of free to protest the war in Iraq.

Peace comes with a price, sometimes with the ultimate sacrifice of young men and women who put their lives on the line to extract the venom of evil that is destroying the souls and spirits of people yearning to be free.
