"I don't Answer the Question, that wasn't Asked!"st
Do you find yourself "over-informed" in the irrelevant, while being "under-informed" about the important people and things in your life?
The more information overload about others, available, especially through the media, the more I find myself moderating my own communications.
Its not that I don't want you to know me, its actually the opposite. I want you to know what you need to know.
But what you need to know, may not be ALL about me. You might just need to know something about me!
So
"I don't 'over- inform'. "I don't answer the question that wasn't asked!" and sometimes, I don't answer the question that is asked, because it is not relevant, to "us"
Its not that I am anti-social, its just that often I see no reason to speak. If it does not benefit you & I, then it is not relevant to our "you and I" relationship, even when it may be relevant to the relationship I have with another person.
Sometimes, someone will say "I didn't know that" or "You didn't tell me that" and I think to myself "You didn't ask" or "It wasn't relevant till now"
This is the age over information. When we know everything from the politician's affair and the Actor's dinner, to how, when and with what, someone does their laundry.
The problem is, its a false knowing. It does not tell us about the important everyday emotions and needs of the people around us. Our family, friends, and community. We are so over informed by the irrelevant that our heart and mind become exhausted, anaesthetised to what is really important to us personally.
Everything has a place, & with balance and harmony, can be of benefit. We just need to keep balance with the TV, magazine, social media and other time consuming information sources. Balancing these with the reality of getting to know the child, partner or friend right next to us who are wanting to share relevant information about themselves, and their relationship with us.
We don't need to know everything about everyone. Everyone does not need to know everything about us. But we do need to know what is important to ourselves, and what is important to those who are important to us.
So I will, just this once, Answer the Question that was not asked!
What is important to me? You are! Because if you have read this to the end, like me you are a Seeker of your own Truth. Perhaps in this moment together, we have helped each other just a little, and that is worth knowing!
Peace and Blessings for the journey
Whenever I talk to someone on the phone or in person (very rarely now) we have to hurry to try to catch up on all the events and changes in our lives. I find that information far more important than the news.
