I recently posted a short story here on AD entitled, Scanned. The subject is similar to some of the things you discussed in the interview. Other authors suggested that I turn it into a novel. I also noticed your connection with SETI. In my first novel, The Kaleidoscope Effect, my rather limited knowledge of astrophysics implied that SETI, while advancing science, is a fruitless effort, primarily because electromagnetic transmission is limited by the speed of light. In my mirror ( not a sequel) of that novel, Alone?, I explored the concept further. I also came up with the concept I called, The Collective, a community of minds thinking both together and individually to determine universal truth. Some readers thought this was diabolical (communism?), but I think of it as being benign and enlightening.
I have given Dr. Jill Tarter signed copies of both these novels.
