The acronym, ASK stands for Ask (A), Seek (S), Knock (K). Understand the ASK principle and apply it in your daily affairs. To Ask, to Seek and to Knock are prayers, and must be practiced with Faith. The great master Jesus taught this immutable principle of success in his great sermons on the mount, when he counselled us to ask and we shall receive, seek and we shall find, to knock and the door shall open for us.
This really is such a simple spiritual principle for success which everyone should put to effective use every day. Unfortunately, many of us do not ask, seek and knock as frequently as we should. Perhaps we are afraid, we are ashamed, we feel too big and proud, or we fear rejection. Beware! Never surrender control of your destiny to negative emotions that prevent you from taking necessary actions that could make a positive difference to your life.
If you geniunely need something from someone but do not ASK for it, you will likely not receive it. If you need knowledge but refuse to SEEK it, you will not obtain it. If you desire to enter a house and you walk up to the door and just stand there without lifting a hand to KNOCK, you will wait indefinitely. Always apply the ASK principle to make life and living easier for yourself.
Learn to ASK. And when you ask, ask aright. Be clear in your mind about what you want. Then ask for it in Faith, with full conviction that you receive. Be sincere, precise and creative in your ASKing.
When you ASK, avoid these sins of asking: asking in such a way that makes it difficult for your benefactor to determine what you want; asking too much and too frequently from the same source; and asking in a manner that could make your benefactor feel you think he or she is a foolish Father Christmas.
Most times, out of desperation we ask amiss. We throw all our problems at the other person, expecting him or her to think for us, decide for us and then provide for us! We forget that our benefactors are busy people who also have their own personal problems. They have their own family, business, professional and career issues to take care of. They may therefore not have the time and patience to add our problems to theirs and then find solutions to all.
You can stand out from the crowd and get quick results by making it easy for your benefactors to assist you. Be clear, concise and specific about what you want from them. Make clear-cut requests. If necessary, suggest possible alternatives.
Most times, we approach our benefactors with personal problems; seeking jobs, financial hand-outs and contracts. What a refreshing difference you could make, by approaching your boss or benefactor with possible solutions to existing organizational, community, environmental or social problems which you could help solve, with his support?
Approach your benefactor with workable proposals, money idea and business plan, showing how and where you want him or her to come in. Explain what results or profit you expect, and how he or she can benefit from it. No boss throws away a genuine and legitimate money idea or business plan, properly presented.
Don't be afraid, ashamed or too proud to ask, seek and knock. You will be pleasantly surprised how many people are willing to give if only you ask; how many doors will open if only you knock; and how much knowledge you can garner if only you seek. Apply the ASK principle everyday and fast-track your journey to success, wealth and wisdom. Ask, Seek, Knock. You have a right to!
