"It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High." Psalm 92:1.
The WEALTH SECRETS You Must Know Before40! - Download Now.
Some two thousand years ago, as Jesus passed through Samaria and Galilee, He came across 10 lepers who cried out to Him for mercy; and He healed them ALL. But only ONE went back to Jesus to say 'thank you' (Luke 17:11-18). Even today, more than two thousand years after, that attitude of 'ten percent Gratitude' is still with us! Only one in ten live a Life of Gratitude.
Of great significance, yet much overlooked, is the identity of that one leper who came back to show gratitude. He was a Samaritan.
Recall the parable of the Good Samaritan: out of three passers-by, only one stopped to show mercy to the robbed victim. And he was a Samaritan.
Recall also Jesus’ encounter with a woman at the well, when He was thirsty and needed water to drink. Again she was a Samaritan.
And you rightly ask: Who are the Samaritans? And why did Jesus repeatedly use them as (positive) examples in His stories and parables?
Demographically, and at that time, the Samaritan was considered inferior to the Jew, but superior to the Gentile.
Spiritually, Samaritans are like the second-class citizens of life. They are not up there, but they are not down there either. They know what it means to be down, but not out. They don’t expect much from anyone, and are therefore grateful when they receive.
Spiritual Samaritans show Love, they show Kindness and above all, they show Gratitude. Why? Because being poor in Spirit, (poor in pride-ego-personality) they appreciates that Love is scarce, that Kindness is scarce; and that Gratitude is scarce. "Blessed are the poor in Spirit...".
Gratitude - a mindset of perpetual joy and thankfulness for the wonderful blessing that life is - is a way of life. Gratitude for what we need but don’t yet have is the secret Law of Attraction. Gratitude is Faith.
When you are truly grateful for the blessings in your life, and you constantly ponder them in your heart, you inevitably draw more blessings to yourself. Why? Because thought is creative energy; because wherever thought goes energy flows; and because what you focus upon grows. Practicing Gratitude can certainly transform your life.
Make Gratitude your way of Life. Don’t wait for big things to happen before you give thanks. Become genuinely grateful for the little things we all take for granted: the air we breathe, our health, our family, our friends, the rain, the sun and numerous other things that make life worth living.
Always reflect on the good things in your life, not just for today, but each and every day. Deeply appreciate the love, goodness and plenty around you. When you are grateful for small things, big ones appear. To be truly happy, simply live a life of Gratitude; and beautiful things must surely come your way. Namaste!
