Life's quest for meaning

The Quest for Meaning

Forces beyond your control can take away everything you possess with the exception of one thing, your freedom to choose how you will respond. You cannot control what happens to you in your life, but you can always control what you feel and do about what happens; this is the ultimate freedom.

Life is not primarily a quest for pleasure, as Freud believed, nor a quest for power as Adler taught, but instead, life is a quest for meaning. The greatest task for any of us is to find meaning in his or her life. The person whose self-esteem depends upon the approval and respect of others, is emotionally destroyed.
But, he who has a WHY to live can bear almost any HOW.

Wise words. I am at a point in my life where, having lived both ups and downs I don't let beliefs or emotions overcome my reaction to anything that is happening, including my death. I have accepted that I will die and welcome it when it comes.

Let Your Goddess Grow! by Charlene Proctor
