Like so many dieters Blondie L. Clayton had been convinced that diet and exercise was the answer to a slimmer body, but hiding among the quick fixes lie the real destructive force. . . her negative mind.
“I wanted my body to be slim but my self-talk sabotaged my goals and activity. I lost the weight but I could still hear the voices saying, ‘You’re fat. Out of shape. I don’t like you. You disgust me’. I’d fall into old habits and patterns and the struggle was on again,” says Blondie.
By the time the low carb diet frenzy emerged, Blondie’s body had been a roller coaster of fat and thin with too many diet plans, exercise, pills, eating special foods, weight off, weight on, with no permanent results.
Blondie’s research of this long-standing issue spilled over into the lives of teen girls; that they too expressed dissatisfaction with their bodies and felt they were too fat. She discovered that certain celebrities—as skinny as they were—thought they were over weight. What is wrong with these people? Why can’t they take the weight off and keep it off, she thought.
The many diet books, counselors, and dieters began to confirm what Blondie had suspected: the problem with weight is more than diet and exercise. It’s a “thought” problem. Now her challenge: make this information available to dieters. Guided by divine revelation, Blondie began writing her personal truths about being fat, negative thoughts, body self-talk. That was the beginning of what she would later discover and design: how to turn ugly unloving thoughts from love/hate into a loving relationship using tape therapy.
“I was surprised the tape recorded message worked. The tape forced me to accept truths: guilt, shame, and negative body talk. If I was my body I wouldn’t perform to bring a slimmer result either,” says Blondie.
Immediately Blondie noticed her mirror reflections no longer screamed fat, or disgusting. She no longer focused on how out of shape her body was, or her fat stomach. Something had changed. Old thinking had truly passed away. There were new thoughts of love and appreciation for her imperfect body.
“There was even a period when I stopped listening, but my mind never went back to old thinking. And eight months from the day I began audio therapy, I woke up with this desire to began an exercise regimen. Though I was shocked by the thought, I wanted to do something, so I began to stretch, march in place, and then run in place and eventually moved to stomach tightening exercises”.
Excited about her discovery of the mind’s influence and role in total body wellness, Blondie began to share her tape with friends and family who got excited about their results. The outcome has been astounding as others discover the secret to permanent weight loss is more than diet and exercise, but must include the renewal of the mind.
