Learned “True Crime” enthusiasts and aficionados have wondered for years if (and it’s a big ‘if’, too!) “The Lipstick Killer” and the notoriously elusive killer of “The Black Dahlia” (Elizabeth Short-22-DOB—July 29th, 1924) were one and the same Serial Killer. Far more intelligent and sly detectives (real and armchair) than I have planted the durable and fruitful seeds that do indeed possibly link them. Now that these wicked smart sorts have provided us with a rugged foundation and have done most of the investigative work, I see them and raise them double that if 5½-YO Suzanne Degnan and Elizabeth Short (whom I will call “BD” for short (no pun!) from here on in…) were killed by the same psychopathic maniac, another potential victim of the dastardly fiend may be the infamously missing United States Military Academy at West Point Cadet Richard Colvin Cox (21-DOB—July 25th, 1928-Mansfield, OH), who very mysteriously vanished on a cold, New York Saturday afternoon on January 14th, 1950. He’s never been found and he is the only West Point alumni to have ever alluded the U.S. Military and authorities after being designated AWOL.
