We all are responsible

Growing up in a society I have noticed how music has been a major contributor to the development of young people. It is very disheartening how many of the music artist operates. Whether they like it or not, they are someone’s role model and whatever they promote in their music greatly influences that person.
I understand that we all want to succeed in life but does the path to success means that we must trample on the growth and development of others, who needs strong positive encouragement and guidance to be productive members of society.
What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul,” very positive quote from the Bible to help keep us on the right path. God created us to love and respect each other and care for each other’s upbringing. Yet, are we demonstrating such attributes in our lives from what we take from the music we listen to, which promotes covetousness for other person’s property, envy, promiscuous behaviours and violent personalities?
In my own household I have seen firsthand, how nephews take on the behavioural patterns of the Artist that adore, and to go as far as to take on his or her style of dressing and way of speaking. Artist needs to be more considerate of the audience that listens to their music and think of the impact that the content of their songs have.
Society is full of violent and rebellious teens and young adults who get caught up with the craze of smoking weed, drinking alcohol and engaging in premarital sex even before they reach the age of consent, which many times for the females leads to teenage pregnancies and abortions.
Like a concern relative I try to encourage my nephews and nieces to listen to music that influences them positively but when their own parents don’t enforce these rules what can I or other persons expect when parents fail in making them aware of the dangers of listening to negative music. I want to leave one thing for any Musician that may come upon the article and that is, remember your own children may be influenced by another who may be far worse than you. Life isn’t just about self glory and making money. Wouldn’t you rather be remember as a positive role model than one whose music that helps contribute to the negative behavioural pattern of the youth of today.
