The seemingly lack of leadership and political experience are some of the things that supposedly plague our future president, Barack Obama. I am personally puzzled by the talk of such nonsense. Senator Obama is 47 years of age, and according to some, the fact that he does not have a few more decades under his belt means that he is not up to the challenge of being Commander-in-Chief of the United States of America.  It seems to me that some Americans have short-term memory loss. Isn’t the leadership and experience we have in place today the reason we are in a financial crisis as a Nation?

Senator Obama is a very well-educated man, who is very capable of putting the American people back on track of gainful employment, fighting recession, handling the war on terrorism and overall being a sincere, fresh new voice in Washington.  He is the hope that America needs to help us all feel confidence in living safely in our communities and comfort in our Nation as a safe place, as he is sincere in his goals to rebuild America.  The other debate is that Barack Obama doesn’t have experience in being a President.  How is one to ever have experience in being a President, unless you are in your second term in office as President of the United States of America?  This top position is the epitome of on-the-job training so how could anyone suggest that Obama doesn’t have experience as a valid argument; John McCain doesn’t have experience in being the President either.

In a current CNN poll, Senator Obama trails Senator McCain on the subject of National Security. As I recall, the greatest act of Terrorism in my lifetime happened on September 11, 2001 under the seemingly watchful eye of a Republican.  Obama also trails in the polls dealing with foreign affairs, Iraq, and terrorism. We all know that the President of the United States is just a figurehead, and doesn’t make decisions on his own. What makes a great president is the Cabinet he builds around him to assist him in making such life changing decisions, as deemed in the best interest of the American people.  Obama has proven that he is more than capable of putting the right people in place to help him to make the right decisions and to run an effective campaign.  These smart and effective choices will continue as he makes the right choices of his Cabinet members.  President Bush proved the world that literally ANYBODY can be President. He has never spoken well at all and has always seemed at a loss when speaking without a script!  Now we have not only a fresh, young, educated voice in Barack Obama, but you have a well versed man who is a tremendous orator and some have doubts about his success as President of the United States…Go figure!

I guess what really bothered me most of all, so far, was watching a young lady crying after hearing Senator Clinton give her great speech. When interviewed by CNN, through the tears, the lady said she couldn’t see herself voting for Senator Obama!  The young lady was not only African- American but a Democrat.  She went on to say that Senator Obama lacked experience and was not presidential! Did this woman ever hear Senator Obama speak? Also, she was a pledge delicate, so how can you not vote Democratic? The epitome of her ignorance came when she said she just might not vote at all? WHAT!

If the Republican Presidential candidate wins and you find yourself back in the Ice Ages, you should then look at yourself in the mirror and then point the finger.  If America can’t get over this deeply rooted racism that NO ONE wants to discuss and oil is $10 dollars a gallon because you voted for John McCain, just because you can’t seem to feel comfortable having an African-American as President, nobody will want to hear you complain about the downward spiral America is destined to face in the next four years.

I don’t know Senator Obama personally, but he seems like a humble man. His humility is what will allow him to make good on all of the promises he made to the American people during his speech at the Democratic National Convention. His strong convictions are what will keep him focused to turn this Nation’s economy around and to stay vigilant about ending the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and bringing our troops home quickly. It is well known that Senator McCain has a quick temper. Do you want someone with a temper as President? Someone who can kill us all with a push of a button?  This Presidential race needs to be about leadership and experience and the best man for the job, not about the racial disparity between the candidates.
