A book critique for "Sweet Liar"

SYNPOSIS:

Our heroine is "Samantha Elliot" she's a very pretty late 20's, early 30's something who is just coming out of a bad marriage and her father has recently died. In order to get her inheritance, she must go to live in New York under the roof of Michael Taggertas his tenant for a year and help him solve the mystery of her grandmother.

Samantha meets Michael and the sparks fly! A daring first kiss just minutes after meeting Michael sends her into a frantic tizzy and she spends close to 290 pages keeping the GORGEOUS hunk at bay.

Michael is single, rich, and a bunch of fun. He's just what Samantha needs to bring her out of the doldrums and make her experience life again. This boy tries. He works it. He wants her so bad it's downright platable. Just when he can't take anymore and starts to alienate her, she comes onto to him and FINALLY - 300 pages later they hit the sack. Hahaha!

While all this is going on, Mike and Sam are investigating the mysterious disappearance of her grandmother and discover her living, incoginito in a nearby nursing home. She's the only family Sam's got while Mike has a slew of family including a twin.

Once Mike & Sam become a couple, the family tries to test Sam by sicing the twin on her - Kane. Sam knows it's not her man in a heartbeat. Having won over the family and solving the mystery of Sam's grandmother, at the end of the novel Sam & Mike are very much in love, she's expecting twins and they are planning their marriage.

CHARACTERS:

Very much, very defined and the focus is very much on Sam & Mike and how they fall in love.

There's lots of obstacles, the biggest being Sam's fear of living life.

PLOT & PACING

Very good, it never got too slow or two fast for me.

I'd give it 4.5 out of 5 stars? Why? Because, like Mike, I was extremely FRUSTRATED like he was come 290 pages into the story and he still hadn't "banged" Samantha! Hahaha!! It took a while for to her give it up and I found myself yelling at the book - "Screw this guy's brains out!" Hahaha

The love scenes - well, I got enough images to get the idea but honestly, by the time they "Did it" I wished I had a lot better visuals. GO figure - but then I'm a drool bib slut.

Deverau is a very easy writer to read and she easily engaged me. Nice blend of Dialogue, action, thoughts, she's a very good EXAMPLE of what aspiring romance writers should read before embarking on their own attempts at Romance.
