A great conversation, not only about what's happening with journalism but what's happening with our country. You both seem to have great insight into what's going on, but like me, we are powerless to do anything about it except try to expose it as much as we can.

I'm always interested in your reason for writing from grief. My starting writing was not from grief but from concern about how I was viewed with disability. The unnecessary stigma that went so far as even my virility that never has been in question.

Since I was not able to get to New York City and contact directly agents like you were, I elected to go with self publishing immediately rather than suffering the rejection you did with success after so many failures over 10 years. I didn't have that kind of time, and still don't.

While my books are widely read and appear to be liked, I've had few sales. I've stopped writing for my local writers group because their mystery anthologies are not of my interest. Too much like high school writing assignments.
